But I´ve got a little problem:
sins and entrenchment with actual patches and Soa Version 0.4.2E (downloaded 18.02.) and asteroid-bugfix
and if i deploy a Klingon Starbase it minidumps, in an other game the Ai was klingon and was able to build it,
with the borg- and romulanstarbases i didn´t have problems, the dominion i didn´t tried yet.

Interesting...I haven't heard about that particular issue. I'm assuming you've tried to simulate this minidump to make sure it's a consistent problem? If not, try it and see what happens. If the problem persists, I suggest deleting the mod and redownload in case a file was corrupted.
I don't know if that had been brought up already, but I have some things that I would love to see in future upgrades like
- replacing the kostura cannon with a transwarp hub that enables the borg to warp to any planet directly, including other star systems, regardless of whether there is a gate at the other end
- maybe a level 10 ability for borg capital ships to assimilate enemy capital ships. could be limited to low level capital ships.
- an ability upgrade for borg pyramids to assimilate enemy planets without or with minimal prior bombardment at the end of the research tree.
- making assimilated ships stronger than their originals due to borg technology upgrades and change their textures and sounds to make them look and sound assimilated.
- visual changes to assimilated planets' surfaces (different colours, borg infrastructure)

At the risk of sounding rude, I'm going to ask that people please not make these types of suggestions or requests, some of which are impossible or nearly impossible to accomplish. We all understand that many of you have particular things you want to see in the mod, but believe me when I say everyone on the mod team has their own personal list of things they'd like to see added to the STILL UNFINISHED mod before we start working on what other people want. This all goes double for the Borg and Dominion factions. Rather than spout off what you want to see, please find a more diplomatic way of approaching the matter (yes, I realize typing that in this type of rant is quite ironic), such as asking if we have plans regarding specific ideas with such-and-such faction. It's much more pleasant to read. Trust me.
In fact, if you'd like to see changes in the mod or would like to see some new features added, why not consider learning how to mod and offer your help. A complete conversion is an absolutely massive project that literally takes entire months of man-hours from each member of the team. Since that time is in addition to work, school, family, friends, etc, I'm sure you can all understand how much of ourselves we are pouring into this mod, and also why we'd rather have offers of help rather than requests or suggestions.
I apologize for my rant, but I'm tired of reading critiques, suggestions, and requests, especially when we're still busy adding oodles of content in every update. Lulzifer, this is most definitely not directed at you, and I am actually looking into upgrades of this type for the Borg. Unfortunately, your post was the straw that broke the camel's back.
This mod is such awesomeness, I cant believe it! Been having so much fun with it, it should be illegal!! ![]()

I would not want to release anything until SOA2 team take a look and give their blessing. This may even be a sub mod. All I have done and am still currently working on is balance the level of all the sounds so one thing isnt louder than the other so you can hear federation and borg weapon fire, rather than just the 1 due to the volumes of some currently. Works pretty well. I have replaced some sounds for my own personal use and used a couple of sounds from multiple ST games.
Hmm i'm not sure if i should post this here or not as it could be a general AI problem to do with Sins, or a general game setting. Basically i've started a new game i've loaded up the factions in the slots that relate to there proper starting posistions (Earth=Fed, Romulas=Romulins ect.) in relation to the map fortune favours the bold. I've then saved the game and reloaded it and took control of the Kilingons as i wanted to give them a bit of a testing.
I've noticed though since starting this game the AI hasn't taken control of the FED even though i've set them to unfair AI once i've swapped over to the Klingons. There just sat there doing nothing, is this just a general AI problem to do with sins or am i just really unlucky and the AI has had a bit of a brain fart ? and its not working so i need to start again. BTW this is what happend in the last game with the Borg once a took over them and then went back to controlling the FED the Borg faction i had took over just sat there doing litterally nothing at all as if it was waiting for me to take controll again.

It's a general AI problem. If you save a game and load it back as a different player then the AI does nothing for the race you were playing as.

Downer, i like giving the AI help in most games as well to make for a more intresting fight (i don't do online).

FYI in your sins install directory there is a exe labeled. "Sins of a Solar Empire Entrenchment Dev" . That is the dev.exe with that you can switch between players with out the ai issues. Just use the dev.exe commads. It is what I personally use when testing races and I donthae to reboot.

I have been running into a few stability issues these past few weeks. I am unsure if they should be reported or anything. Im running Entrenchment 1.05 with the most recent mod files and it seems that the game just crashes randomly every 15-30min on a constant basis. I have been unable to find any pattern and I have reinstalled the game with no luck. Mod is amazing but it can get irritating to play with these crashes so frequently. Any ideas on what may be happening? Also you guys interested in the dump/crash files?
I've been running into the same dump issues with Distant Stars. The little bit I've been able to glean from the forums on this issue deals with the massive memory leak that Sins has and can supposedly be avoided by turning down the graphics settings for Planets, Ships, and Buildings. Try turning them down a setting or two to see if it helps; if not, we'll need to look some place else for the issue.
Thanks, will give it a shot. Right now I do have everything maxed so I will lower everything to medium and see if that changes anything.

Ok guys it seems the 2 gig dump bug is back with a vengence, and that is a general sins bug. That is prolly why you guys are experiencing random warp speed trips back to your desktops. It doesnt matter how powerful your system is, but guys with just 2 gigs of ram will experience it more than guys with 4 gigs. Sins still has a VERY bad habit of dumping when you go over 2 gigs of ram. I play VANILLA Diplomacy on my 4 gig laptop and i crash randomly when the map starts filling up. So the memory leak comment has merit. It is also a bug that sins had for a very long time.
Reduce your graphic settings. Disable roids, dustclouds, planet rings, planet elevators, and other stuff not necessary for the mod. Disabling skybox's frees up TONS of ram. Disabling Bloom increases performance tremendously. You can keep the ship details, and bump to highest because most of our ships use a lower resolution texture than vanilla sins.
SoA2team be careful what you upload to sync. the sounds, and other issues were fixed already, but it seems the old broken files found their way back in the mod. Which means our work is being overwritten. Use the separate folders like the original plan.
So I turned a bunch of thoes settings down, like the dust clouds,rings,elevators and also the sky boxes. I had a 3 hour game without a single crash. Looks like that was the issue. My machine has 4 gigs of ram, never though there would be a ram issue with this but looks like it worked.
Good to hear! To be honest I really have not experienced any of the random dumps, however i do keep my settings at the defaults. Just a fyi to all . A little progress report on things. Saul is almost done with the dominon starbase. We also have a model finished for the dominion orbital weapons platform. Eomega is getting the the klingon ships ready. On the coding side we also have some new abilites. and a few new particle effects. Not to mention more sounds are being worked on as we speak.

That also confirms it is the sins 2 gig dump issue. I just hope i dont have to nerf the mod textures any more than what they are now because of this.
Progress on the 0.5 series. Federation faction is finished. with the Oberth as the diplomatic ship. All existing mod meshes checked over (for the federation), Mesh Nulls that needed fixing are now fixed. Nav lights added to ships, and structures. 1/2 scale implemented. Some ship firing arcs revised (example constitution can now use aft phasers). Some ships mesh errors were fixed, but not all of them because those fixes will require complete model rebuilds. For now i am leaving those meshes alone. Should be able to wrap up the feds by this weekend then move on to the klingons.
So I uninstalled the game, and deleted every thing in the folders, then reinstalled. About a hour in to a new game and CD, reloaded a save, CD in few minutes. Not sure what the problem is here.

I play with all game sitting at max, with huge maps and 7 AI players, I have restarted my reg thinking it might be a mem leak, but didn't work. Any help please, thanks. I will try to turn down the setting and see whats happen's.
I turned things down and alot of things off, and my save still CD in a few min. Not sure what to do.
How many AI do most of you fight, for me its 7. Should I restart a game with just 5 counting myself.
I have a slightly newer version of the mod up at ModDB (v0.4.2.1E). It is basically whats available here plus the fix's all in one file. I know the peeps here hate ModDB. I do too after their shitty review of the mod, but its an alternate DL source, and free web space, because i am too cheap, lazy, and i am just "using" ModDB. We got too many things to keep track of as it is now. I wont post 0.4.2.1E here because 2 out of 3 of my uploads wound up being corrupt (blame crappy verizon internet). Maybe Jaytlrpcs will be kind, and upload it, and update the main topic (TIA Jay

You are dumping from a saved game? This is new to me, and no one on the mod team is a programmer. TBH i have no clue what to tell you. Most of the past sins save game dumps are because older incompatable saves are loaded.
Are you running from the trinity dvd, or did you re-install via Impulse? You are running entrenchment v1.05 correct?
Play vanilla entrenchment in max settings while running your task manager. keep an eye on your ram usage. If you got 6 gigs of ram, and sins dumps when you hit between 2 to 2.5 gigs i would be complaining to Ironclad. Like everyone else should if they experience the same issue. If the game does have a mem leak it needs to be fixed.
I just have entrenchment from Impulse, and its v1.05. I don't have the trinty dvd, do I need the other add on.
I have the same problem with other mods as well so I do not think that its this one causeing the CD. I agree with the Mem leak as other mods are crashing.
