Just a quick question, the Klingon Bird of Death, where did you grab that from? We used it (and I think created it) for the Star Trek vs Star Wars mod for ST: Armada. I honestly can't remember who made the model for us though. But I'm curious =P
is anyone else having trouble downloading the mod from addrive? ive tried multiple times using the standard windows download program and other download accelerators and everytime it gets to the end it says "the file cannot be downloaded"?
Just wondering about the Borg... why must I start out now with one of those pyramids instead of having resources to build a Queens Diamond without taxing myself right off the bat?
I figure that was added in there as a nerf, or my PC is acting up on me again.
the issue with the resource asteroids has been corrected since yesterday. sorry forgot to post. Will be uploading a patch. soon, will only be a few files

it was apart of the nerf. This was done more or less for the borg ai. Also if you dont want it scuttle it and use the rsesources from it to buy a diamond,
patch posted to op also below. Simply download unzip the files and insert into the soa2 mod game info dir , it will ask to overwrite 3 files. accept the overwrite and your done.

Any comment on the slow travel around stars? It's a great mod otherwise, but we're kinda forced to play in single system galaxies to avoid them, or was that the intention?

Its been a long time but i believe the Bird of Death is from Cleeve over at Staryards.com. I normally put the model authors name on the textures but there was no room on this one.
Just wondering out loud here, to those who are better at the Borg than I...
How do I assimilate ships without destroying them? I turn auto attack off, and move them in close enough to assimilate them, then hit them with the ability... once the ship is hit... my borg cube or diamond then destroys it. I tried last game to get a decent fleet of assimilated siege ships, and ended up with 3 total, everything else I tried to take over, got destroyed.
What am I missing?
Hmmm, most of the time turning auto attack off works for me. Make sure once you turn it off you give the ship a new order, such as moving towards where the enemy ship is. Also you can try assimilating ships that are in the middle of a whole bunch of other ships to minimize the chance of it getting destroyed.
That is what I do, if there is something I want to assimilate, I turn AA off and run my cube over there. Once it hits the siege frigate with the assimilate ability, it then open fires on it and blows it up before it is complete. I have even tried to have it run away after the ability, but nothing.
I can't seem to get it to work very well for me, lately, I haven't even bothered.
After I research the Danube class Minelayer how do I make one? Couldnt find it anywhere......Maybe just blind?
The danube is a heavy fighter in the game and is buildable by the fed starbase and galaxy class i think not certain on the galaxy.
Guys, I just got a great idea. I was fighting Fed verses Fed, and it suddenly came to me: this game needs a TERRAN EMPIRE logo, from the Mirror Universe.
Great mod, more so for it being a beta, only problem i care about really is when i end up chasing ships out of the planet area and deep into space, i dont like when the Dominion just fly away and shoot at you...takes so long to get back, and if i dont go after them they just phase away lol ( The cap ships )

would it be possible to add those pretty planets from Sins Plus? not those new research and bonus stuff, just the models and textures?
because when u send ur ships out there to scout for the next planet, it would be awesome to see some more different types of new worlds ![]()

That is a conundrum, since I turn off the auto attack. Next I give them a move order to anywhere in the area (just to properly clear out anything that it might have stored in it's command queue). Then I click the assimilate tab and manually tell them which ship to assimilate and everything goes fine for me (I just tested this method out and it works 100%).
Also Stress and Team, I am happy to see the new splash's for the loading screens. Having zero sins loading screens seems to make the mod feel better (I also liked the game Icon that you had in your previous versions and have kept it since).
Yep that's what I said to do and I'm pretty sure it works for me too. You must be doing something wrong if the cube still attacks. Sorry if I didn't explain it clearly enough in my first post.
No, I understand, and I am doing exactly what you two have said... just more times than not, I watch as the unit I am trying to steal is destroyed. Maybe I need to disable AA sooner, normally I am disabling it right before it gets into range.
Starbase should be able to build 1 Danube squad, As well as the Hangar Defense structure. A Galaxy should not be able to build them, because it is too big to fit in her hangars. If it is there it shouldnt be there. Danubes take 2 command points to build vs. the fighter, and bombers 1 command point, and should work like a very heavy fighter, or corvette. Since it is using the psi mine slot it should work just like a tracking mine without the conversion to mine ability.
Once we get our ships, structures, and effects in the mod we will see about getting some custom planets in here as well.
Yes definitely disable it sooner. One thing that I've typically seen in this game is that the actual range of units is slightly larger than the purple circle. If you are disabling it just before the unit enters the circle, chances are the mindless borg drones are already destroying the puny ship in their way.
Resistance is futile if you wait too late to disable the AA.
I would try disabling it as soon as you see the ship you want. Just make sure you don't turn it back on before the ship is done assimilating.
Oh and Major Stress, unless I'm mistaken I didn't see anything about the danube that looked like a corvette. I didn't test it, but I didn't see any damage ratings in the info card. Did I miss something or is it not implemented yet?
