Why are so many people getting banned?

Why are so many people getting banned?

It seems as of late alot of people are getting banned lately, to be honest i dont think people should be banned unless they are cheating/exploiting the game. I certainly hope people arent being banned because of their discompfort with the game. Just cuz they are mad about the game and complain about it certainly isnt worth banning them from the game. Ban them from the forums if u hate hearing their mouth, squelch them in chat if they bother u in game. But banning...plz

He said forums are a place to put your opinion then he turns around and says no one cares ... so um ... yeah!

So um... fail! Yeah, forums are put there so people can theoretically read about your opinions. Yeah, no one in practice gives a crap about the opinion of some 14 year old idiot. Okay, simpler terms. Forums are here so you can share your opinion and discuss. But frankly, unless you post https://forums.stardock.com/347388 <-- that, not many people will care.

Warskull imo ... if you go look at that made a few posts and was pretty dang in-detail to help. So what did he get banned for? He get mad and say one thing and get a insta ban? Idk .. didn't seem like a bad guy to me.

In detailed as in:

-He can't play 5v5
-Stardock owes him to fix it

Yes, maybe it is considered "in detail" for you, but honestly it helps nobody. Maybe a couple of other trolls here or there. So in other words, no one the community really cares about. And no, it wasn't one thing, it was the above times 10.

Quoting ganKing, reply 23I'm confused, was this warskull guy banned from the forum, or banned from the forum and the game's multiplayer?
I think he was banned from the forum and refunded and banned from the game too. I'm not sure though. I don't even know who this warskull is.

I talked to him in chat the other day and he seemed like a really cool person.

Sometimes it's not always what is seen publicly that gets you banned. A couple of years ago a guy got banned in the same manner from GC2 while it looked like he was just being slightly vocal with an issue he was having with the game. Turned out he had been sending abusive profanity laden email to Stardock employees also. Not saying that's what happened in this case, but just saying it isn't always so public as to the reasoning. I think everyone knows Chaos, but like some others I don't remember ever seeing this Warskull guy, so no opinion there.

Warskull was banned across the board and supposedly issued a refund but he hasn't seen the refund post yet.

All this for 1 comment on a forum.

Tiny can you be specific? Someone from your Tournament team?

Because, WarskullX, one of our teammates just got banned for... constructive criticism. There's a thread up about refunds, he posted on-topic with his opinion, in his usual professional demeanor, and got "refunded" out of the game.

If you look at his posts he's one of the most constructive participants on this forum - like the recent thread about helm balancing in multiplayer. Nothing but professionalism and objective contribution. We also played together since buying the game in beta, on an almost daily basis especially in the past few weeks as connection improved.

We also entered a player run tournament and are scheduling a match for Saturday - which is now in limbo since we can't just replace our friend with someone else at such short notice and with little to no practice time left.

I don't understand how this can happen - he didn't ask for a refund and the account had value in stats and unlocks.

That's not something he can replace by just buying the game, not to mention the insult of the experience.

This is really ugly stuff, and should definitely not be swept under the rug!

wait, is this true?

All this for 1 comment on a forum.

Like what DethAdder said, you never know the full story. And I doubt Stardock would air what happened behind the scene that caused the ban. It might look unfair to the public eye (and from the public view so far, I do think it's rather harsh) but unless we can see the full detail of what went on.. I don't think we can say for sure.

But from what I've seen of Stardock.. I can't swallow that Warskull didn't do anything to deserve that ban. There has to be more to the story.

I think he should be unbanned, someone touched a nerve and they reacted like a kid being stung by a bee...

Demigod Balance:Helmets - a thread by WarskullX

http://forums.demigodthegame.com/352369

That's some of the best quality feedback on this forum, with patient followup answering questions and coutner arguments posted by other community members.

Who is Warskull? Not someone deserving a terminated account for one questionable comment.

People in other gaming communities who know him will be surprised and puzzled by this situation.

He was very vocal in his belittling of Stardocks ungodly overtime crunching. But it was clear he was done with the game. If he is done with this game, why is he still here on this forum? I honestly believe that his ban was fair and legit. Hell, SD doesn't owe nobody crap. All their bans are fair and legit. But in this case, he gave no constructive criticism and just told SD to screw themselves. Alright, maybe he did say that 5v5 didn't work. Anyways, judge for yourselves:

Uh, don't know whether or not this was posted before, but here

https://forums.stardock.com/350858/page/2

For those unaware with the story. He was banned on Page 1, linked you page 2 becuz im stoopid. I don't know whether or not this was an only occurance, but I believe this was the post he was banned for. And I don't believe the 1 comment argument is legit. I can theoretically do many things in one post to get me banned because of one post. Yes, I have read WarSkullX's other post, and I believe he was a great community member.

Well if they're refunding him then he doesn't have cause to complain.  Heck, he could use the refund money to buy a new copy if he still wants to play.

No, he can't. He lost all favor points and his account - and the name he's registered with for the player run tournament that started this week.

Buying a new account will not guarantee that he can keep playing - if Brad decided to terminate the account once, what makes you think he won't do it again?

Would you keep playing a game and get invested in it if you felt like that could be taken away at any time, regardless of your positive record based on one questionable comment?!

Warskull was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  Many many posts and comments have been made with far more objectionable content by frankly less valuable members of the community.  They are all still playing.

Stardock, please reconsider this one.  Ban him from the forums if you must, but don't take the game away from one of the guys who actually knows how to use it.

Thanks,

Kestrel

I'm here because without people like Warskull, all you'll have left are heartless trolls.

This has to be the worst comeback/insult I have ever seen on this forum. If vindKtiv actually had an avatar that I could relate this to it might be remotely funny.

Anyway, I'll agree that from this point of view Warskull being banned from the game is harsh. But the title of the OP is "Why are so many people getting banned?"

That was one example.

@Kestrel

I thought he didn't want to use it. Hence the desire for a 100% refund.

@TenetGW

When you have technical issues, report it through the correct channels, get the acknowledgement and then wait. Continually harping on about it and calling Stardock a disgrace for not fixing it is beyond a joke. Yeah, it'd be great if they could just wave a magic wand.

Some of the points is here a surprise some more haven't been banned, eyes on them now - I say.

are you dense?  he's here because he wants to play the game, and he's upset that his friend/teammate got banned/refunded despite having not broken any forum rules.  what warskull did was arbitrarily decided to be a bannable offense.

I agree entirely.

I think it's a mistake that someone someone so emotionally connected to this product should be making decisions about who stays and goes. Maybe Frogboy should consider delegating this responsibility?

Also, I am again (more so) disgusted by some of the community reaction.

General response seem to be that working hard entitles a company to not have to take criticism, that opinions don't matter, and SD is beyond questioning. I think these are all horrid explanations, coming from horrid people.

If that is how he feels about the game and the community, then why waste your breath complaining about it? Just leave. Because if that is the way the community is and you're not happy being here, obviously it's not going to change in your favor. So just leave.

You know, It seems to get banned around here you have to act quite the fool for quite some time.

I doubt that manypeople are getting banned and if they are they probably deserve it.
