Observer Mode?

Ok first off. Hi everyone, I actually bought this game around when it came out, but I never got into multiplayer (Muiltplayer RTS's aren't really my thing). Anyway, I was just visiting the Sins website again and was looking through the FAQ's. I stumbled on the question under the Multiplayer section that asked "Is there an Observer Mode" the answer was Yes.

Now that perked my interest as I like to watch RTS muiltplayer matches and try to figure out what one person is doing that is giving them the edge in a battle. The thing is I can't find this observer mode anywhere in the multiplayer options (I'm logged into my Ironclad Online account by the way, so no the LAN section stuff). Was this Observer mode taken out or am I just looking in the wrong place. If there isn't an Observer Mode then the FAQ's need to be edited.

I only play the game in online multiplayer, and I'm pretty certain that, sadly, there isn't any way to spectate multiplayer games.  You might consider watching replays, but replays have been broken ever since the release of v1.1.

I made an observer map long time ago.  But for it to work all players had to have it downloaded.  The way it worked Team 1 player and team 2 player were regualr players.  everyone else would pick team 3 and they would start on an unconnected dead asteroid with no money.  And the only way they could see anything was if the players on team 1 or 2 would give them a visual treaty.

Well that is annoying, Ironclad/Stardock really should edit that FAQ section. It is really misleading, or at the very least fix those replays! Well there goes my idea of fun. Thanks for the help you two.

Yes I agree with replays. I would love replays to get fixed, adding observer mode, and on top of that allowyou to host replays so you can watch them with people.

I made some observer maps.  Just spread them around so we can have enough people to participate.

I'm also prepering a map pack, all in one for a bunch of observer maps. So far I got 9. Let me know what maps you would like to see remade.
