Sins of a Solar Empire 1.12 BUG log (by krunk)

ok so, so far I have seen about 4 new bugs that are not something that was happening in the previous versions, haven't found any exploits yet though :)

 

Bug #1: The Lobby

Games can no longer be seen in the game list. Tar in the lobby was saying that this problem had been fixed, and that all we had to do was to join his game and it would fix it, but I dont believe him. You have to know the name of the game you want to join, type it in the search,and then it shows up, OR whomever makes the game can join the lobby and tell people to click his name and then join that way. As far as i know this is effecting everyone.

Bug #2: The Host Disconnect

So far in every game that I have played about 40 mins into the game the host get disconnected. I know they aren't leaving the game because they log right back in and tell me hey i dumped. Yes there is still a mini dump. I cannot host, so I dont know the exact error, but I know it is there.

Bug #3: Disconnected from Iron Clad Online

This usually happens from 30 mins to 1 hour into the game generally after the host disconnect. Its pretty consistant, and when it happens everything is over you might as well quit. Not to worry though it doesn't show up on your record. or it hasent on mine, and i have been surrendering. I think this is the old desync bug with a new twist. It is as if when someone desyncs they are kicked by the program. It could also be a timed disconnect from ICO. I was talking to kryo in the forum and he said that this game was peer to peer client hosted, so it would make sense that there is a line of code that says server.timeout.prog = 45mins. So it seems that if you ever disconnect from ICO even though the host is still in the game, game over. I am currently trying playing the entire game out to see what happens, but i would imagine that it wont matter.

Bug #4: Trade routes

Before this patch the highlighted trade route could pass through the pirate base and the sun, after this patch it doesn't seem you can do that anymore. I dunno if that is a fix or wahtever, but thats it.

ok im tired this game has taken 8 hours, and i just dont feel the same accomplishment as when i kill a player....oh well...

i've hosted a bunch of games today, never had a minidump, but the lobby bug exists and i was d/cd from ICO a couple times.

The first bug is really serious.

This just killed multiplayer.

no, i think the spamming "strategy" kills multi more. but this sure doesn't help

Single ship spaming is easly defeated. Read up in the Strat section of the forums.

I have been dc a few times. I got dc in a game last night where it was me and sith vs 3 peeps and we were havin a final showdown and when they jumped in i got dc aaaaaaaaaaarghhhh>:(  X(  X|  XO  :rofl:  :no:   all that time of building fleets was for not. I still played it out and me and sith won. I wonder how it would have turned out if the humans were still playin:|
