Solved : About Weapon Dummy's LIMIT? [10 is a safe limit at the moment]

I've tried made some new ship from 3dsMax.

The first two(a simple frigate and a Capitalship) were successfuly. And now the third Bigger one has some problem may crash the game.

It's a captialship, after crash the game. I've keep all files original except two: new ship entity/new mesh.

Shield use TEC carrier's which can wholely contain my ship.

Okay, here is my strange crash:

At first, I've made 72 weapon dummy of missile's, and the game very easy to crash when my ship fighting.

Then, I've reduced missile's weapon dummy to 48, seems a little better, but still easy to crash.

And now, I've reduced missile's weapon dummy to 24, seldom crash the game when fighting, and seems enemyship's count more, more easy crash.

So i think, If somewhere limit the weapon dummy's count?

And anyone know where's my problem?

BTW, maybe you'll ask me why use so many dummy? The following cool record video which used 24 missile weapon dummy should answer for me, yep  :p

Still crash, I've tested again and again, nearly give up.
Anyone can help?
I've reduced all weapon dummy's count to 10, and never crash, so where is the limit? limit is how much?

Activate ShowErrors in user.setting and it will show what is wrong when problem occure.

I've never tried modding sins, so I can't offer any advice. Just wanted to say your ship looks cool =)

I meant no record.. See in game pop up when game load up. It`ll say that model have too many weapon points. Just adjust points till no message appear.

Okay, I've turn on the "ShowError" but there is no message appeared.

And at last, I've found the weapon dummy's limit, It's max 10 weapon dummy for each weapon type, also weapon type max is 3, so we have Maximus 30 weapon dummy for each ship.

BTW, when i've tested 24 weapon dummy of missile which in my video. The game not crashed always, so i think the game engine can support more, and somewhere has a limitation.

It's so disappointed me, my Cool Missile Array CaptialShip no longer cool any more... :SNIFF!:

Are you sure about this? My own (still continuing) experiments seem to indicate that it is more likely a cap on the max number of dummy points overall. e.g I have a model with 8 weapon-0 and 16 weapon-1 points, and (when working) 6 exhaust points, but when I increase the number of exhaust points it crashes the game, granted my last attempt was with 24 exhaust points so i could have run into a limit there.

exhaust points are max 10

for weapons you can have more weapons, but I am noticing stability issues as well and don't know if it is a bug with my stuff or with the engine yet (I can have the game run fine for hours with ships with 50+ weapon points, but some ships crash occasionally in battle, no idea why, no log just a dmp)

yep, it's not crash the game always, just about stability, the video of topic where my ship has 24weapon-0, 8weapon-1, 2weapon-2, 10exhaust points.

yep, and seems missile's weapon points easier to crash the game, and both us agree the 10 is Max for each point type. ;) 

glad i'm not the only one noticing stability issues with large number of dummy's per weapon


Glad so many people find this problem, at the moment TEN should be a safe limit.
