ya i love it,
my only problem is there is there is a string missing or something for backstab in the new game select.
i don't know what the problem is but I'm sure it could be fixed pretty easy.
just FYI

also thank you to ironclad for the care they show the game by producing these patches and the consideration that they show by listening to us the users.

cheers

FYI, it's not clearly noted in the patch notes, but I do believe the particle effects disappearing bug is fixed in 1.04 as well ;)

As far as I could tell Annatar it is. I played for a full hour with Vasari and I noticed all effects functioning as they should during that time (normally they would've disappeared after half an hour). :)

What kind of bug is (was) it?

The bug was that weapon effects would not display after playing for a while. Ships would still be doing damage and everything, but there was no visual weapon fire.

It mostly happened with Vasari, and quite early in the game, but I've seen it with TEC and Advent as well. Sometimes not all effects disappeared also, and once in a while you would see some fire but not all.

A weird bug it was :P

I think someone in a Modding thread found a strange line that might have led the developers to find the bug.

Yep yep.

Yeah, it was REALLY relevant if you were to play BailKnight's graphical enhancements mod. Essentially, it was that some of the particle types in the missile effects family had an infinite lifetime and filled up the ceiling quickly, and of course the Vasari specialize in missiles.

I'm looking forward to the 1.04 version of Bailknight's now that it's fixed.

Yes. It`s FIXED at last.
The main reason of this bug is Vasari Pulse gun`s muzzle effect that has infinite lifetime.
I`ll release fixed version as soon as possible with some enhancement.

Yes, it's specifically altering your MAXPARTICULECOUNT in your user.settings. I noticed in 1.04 there is a new parameter related to MaxParticleCount.]

1.04 seems to have completely remade the user.settings so after the patch I went in right away and jacked up all the Particle Count values. I have a good rig so want to make sure I don't miss one single particle. :)
