[Detailed questions on Tradeports and BroadcastCenters]

Plz help~ tks

Tradeports:

Does building extra tradeports on 1 planet benefit?

Let's say I have planet A and B, Is it OK to build 2 tradeports at A and 1 tradeports at B? Or does the tradeports have to be 1 to 1 meaning that 2 on A and 2 on B?

If I have planet A,B,C,D Which of the following options is better?
Building 1 tradeport on each of them? (4 in total)
Building 2 tradeports on only 2 planets with higher population (tax)? (4 in total on only 2 planets)

Broadcastcenter

Let's say there are planet A,B,C planet A,B are mine, C is enemies. (They are in chain form)

I have a broadcast center at planet A and the culture already spreaded pass planet B and is on the way to planet C.
My questions:

By building another broadcast center on planet B, does it speed up the culture spread speed to planet C by 1 time? Does it strengthen the culture influence on planet C?

If I build a second broadcast center on planet A instead of B (meaning that i have 2 broadcast centers on planet A), Is the effect the same with above? (Building 1 on A and 1 on B)

Hope the questions are clear, and I'm looking foward to the answers

Greetings

Another short question, If i build 2 or more broadcastcenters on 1 planet, does the effect stack? regarding culture spread strength, speed, tax income

(ignoring about putting it onto other planets closer to the enemy)

Culture output from each planet is simply added to the other planets. Each planet's influence diminishes with distance, so they add less culture two links away than one link away. If your planets are linked A-B-C then building culture centres on B will have more effect on C faster than building on A. Building on A and C would affect B equally - except that if they are owned by a different player modifiers will come in to play.

However, adding a culture centre to a planet raises the local loyalty factor by 10% - and hence raises the local tax revenue by 10%. This is an incentive to spread culture centres out or to put them on high-population Terran worlds.

I don't have details on the effects of extra trade ports, but the number of trade stations is not the biggest factor in trade revenue which is primarily determined by the length of the trading chain. Any trade ports that are not extending the length of your trade chain will not make much of a contribution to your funds. However, trade with other players under trade treaties may use those ports, so don't write those planets off.

Incorrect. While the longest trade route receives a bonus, those that aren't on it are far from "useless".

So long as you have tradeports at more than one world, more trade ports means more credit income. The details are in which trade ports give the most improvement, which generally are those on the "longest trade line". Do be aware that there are other trade routes than just the one displayed -- for example, you form them with your allies routes.

You're very abrupt, Ron. For the record, I didn't say anything was "useless" - the quotation marks you use imply that I did.

However, I did omit the word "as" where I had intended to write "as much of a contribution". That's still a long way from "useless" however!

I also already made the point that planets may be contributing to cross-border trade routes even if they are not on the longest trade chain within your own empire.

Yes, it stacks, in all respects.

I have a question about tradeports. What does destroying trade ships do? In the beta, trade ships would pick up cargo that was valued at a certain amount, and would not add it to your income until it arrived at it's destination, now however, it's a constant income, so what if any benefit do you gain from disrupting trade routes?

How can you tell how much culture you control? I just finished a game where all phase lanes were green and I owned all planets (minus the last enemy one) and all the planets I owned had allegiance as high as it could go. But on the recap screen it told me that I only had 50% of the system's culture.

That recap screen is the best way I know, I'm afraid. However, if you save the game and quit to the main menu before it is finished you will see the same summary screen. That's the best way if you are trying to get the 75% culture achievement. 75% is actually a huge effort and you will need to put a dangerous amount of your resources into culture. You also may wish to rely on culture to take over enemy planets and simply raid their culture producing centres - but equally if it is a large map you could just drive the last opponent into a small corner and ignore them while your culture points build up.
