Aloha!

The official name of the project is Sins of Alethia. This name was chosen because Alethia, daughter of Zeus is the Greek goddess of truth. Both the Cylons and humans believe they are on the side of truth in their respective intrepid struggles. Consequently we felt strongly a failure to acknowledge this point as the central element of cause would be a disservice to the community and franchise proper.

This project is really a love letter to all fans of Battlestar Galactica. As a community we firmly believe the show is fantastic, and there's no reason why this stunning vision of an alternate Sci-Fi reality should not, and can not be brought to Sins. We are hoping to achieve not only an accurate representation of classical and contemporary BSG lore, but to also pay tribute fans by firmly grounding the project in the extensive BSG fan-fiction lovingly crafted by its followers and incorporate our own in to the mix.

Since its debut in 1978 to its 2003 re-imagining, its true to say that individual details regarding the universe are somewhat sketchy at best. With that in mind its our aspiration to fill in these gaps, as necessary, to create the strongest and most enjoyable gaming experience possible with this project for both the Sins and by extension the general BSG communities.



Currently we dont have a formal production time-line planed out; nor do we plan on developing one for the project. Everyone has their own ideas for how BSG could work in Sins, and there are some pretty firm thoughts on what should work and what would work. However there is also much to learn about the modding tools once we get them all as well as what limits we will have to work under within the engine. So it seemed impractical to try establish artificial limits with such unknown variables. We'll certainly let you all know about events and happenings as they arise.

Needless to say, expect the Cylon forces and Human Colonials to clash in an epic conflict of both ideals and survival!



Any and all help offered would be greatly appreciated. Concept artists, modelers and texturers along with anyone who feels they can give some good, solid, constructive input into the project are more than welcome to discuss, participate and bring your ideas to the table.

I dont think they found earth remember how all those people said starbuck bringer of the apocolypse and blah blah blah well it was starbuck who led them there so maybe its not earth maybe they all took a wrong turn and when they reached earth everything on the planet was covered in a shadow so we cant be sure its earth because we didnt see and land formations to confirm it. OH AND THIS WILL MAKE YOU ALL HAPPY if you thought that was the last episode...its not theres ten more WOO HOO! :D sadly the other ten are coming out next here AWWWW!

And yeah, it looked exactly like a blown-to-bits-by-nuclear-warhead city. Armageddon had come.

Still though, I doubt every person who was on Earth is dead. Nuclear war doesn't happen overnight. Okay it does, but tensions rise before the nukes are launched, so there is a lot of warning. Basically, there are still Earthlings (Earthians?) living in bomb shelters somewhere most likely. All they have to do is find them. Which is the first hard thing. Second hard thing is not getting shot by paranoid survivors. Third hard thing is telling the fleet that their gods really are false.

The 13th tribe left for Earth around 3,000 years ago, right?
That makes it around 1,000 B.C. for us, well within Ancient Greece. And with the Colonial gods being the Greek gods, things might get confusing for the fleet. And the fact that humans evolved here. Finally, Gaius Baltar basically preaches Christianity and you have one very tense situation.

It is still moving along nicely - slow but nicely nonetheless. Please feel free to check out the development threads in the project's forum. At the moment we are hurting for a graphics guys to work on the UI and need some codemonkey work finished but other wise things are moving a head.

If anyone is interested in joining the project we are always looking for more talent.

I want this finished too.  You can NEVER have enough battlestars in your armada.  Plus this looks to be THE best BSG mod out there.  Fleet Commander for HW2 just doesn't feel right.

It is still active but things are going slow mainly due to real life issues and a lack of a good graphic artist person and some techincal issues. On the positive side our modeler has done some really good work to say the least. We have decided to release a minimod teaser sometime in the near future.

For what it is worth our modeler Newberg has invested a lot of time into developing things and I must his work if very good. Maybe soon we will post some screen shots. Currently I'm trying to get an update on the team to see who is still committed to the project and who has simply faded away.

OK folks, I'm putting the call out for people interested in joining the team to stand up and be counted!

Our modeler is pretty much the only guy actively working on stuff now and it is starting to irk me. Nearly all of the rest of the team has simply vanished and sadly enough I dont enough free time to really do any serious code work and I'm highly concerned that the modeler may decide to walk away. Consequently the project will fade into oblivion. Much work has been done already and what is needed now is unit customization coding, beta testing and packaging.  

So now is your change if you wanted to become involved in the project. Please PM me here or go to the project forums and post there.

It wont happen. I dont like moddb to be honest and similar sites of that ilk. This is a primary reason why I started modcraft.net. Sites like that are all about monetizing project efforts and developing traffic flow for collateral revenue enhancement and to add insult to injury they dont really give full support to mod projects.

No worries. We will drive on.

In all fairness to evryone, we lost three coders over the past year not due to lack of interest but because of the hardcoded limits. We also lost two arstists for the same reason layout wise if memory serves.

I already offered help in another thread to answer any modeling questions, and issues. That is of course if i knew the answers to the questions ;) I just cant do any extra modeling at the moment, because of lack of time, and RL issues.
