Aloha!

The official name of the project is Sins of Alethia. This name was chosen because Alethia, daughter of Zeus is the Greek goddess of truth. Both the Cylons and humans believe they are on the side of truth in their respective intrepid struggles. Consequently we felt strongly a failure to acknowledge this point as the central element of cause would be a disservice to the community and franchise proper.

This project is really a love letter to all fans of Battlestar Galactica. As a community we firmly believe the show is fantastic, and there's no reason why this stunning vision of an alternate Sci-Fi reality should not, and can not be brought to Sins. We are hoping to achieve not only an accurate representation of classical and contemporary BSG lore, but to also pay tribute fans by firmly grounding the project in the extensive BSG fan-fiction lovingly crafted by its followers and incorporate our own in to the mix.

Since its debut in 1978 to its 2003 re-imagining, its true to say that individual details regarding the universe are somewhat sketchy at best. With that in mind its our aspiration to fill in these gaps, as necessary, to create the strongest and most enjoyable gaming experience possible with this project for both the Sins and by extension the general BSG communities.



Currently we dont have a formal production time-line planed out; nor do we plan on developing one for the project. Everyone has their own ideas for how BSG could work in Sins, and there are some pretty firm thoughts on what should work and what would work. However there is also much to learn about the modding tools once we get them all as well as what limits we will have to work under within the engine. So it seemed impractical to try establish artificial limits with such unknown variables. We'll certainly let you all know about events and happenings as they arise.

Needless to say, expect the Cylon forces and Human Colonials to clash in an epic conflict of both ideals and survival!



Any and all help offered would be greatly appreciated. Concept artists, modelers and texturers along with anyone who feels they can give some good, solid, constructive input into the project are more than welcome to discuss, participate and bring your ideas to the table.

No worries MS. We have a new coder on board now. Lets see what he can do! I'm sure if he has any questions he will field some to you. He is very active on these forums.

On a related note, sadly like you my time is very limited now and has been for a few months. In short I'm really just a support guy for the project now.

We added a new coder and a new helper; currently they are taking stock on the situation. If anyone else wants to get involved now is the best time.

Regarding the demo question, if all goes well and the coder can rock and roll maybe by the end of the month if not sooner.

Awesome Id volunteer to help but I fear I wouldnt be very useful my knowledge of modding sins ends with editing entity files and string files. I wish you guys the best of luck and I cant wait to se what you all come up with!

Well that is a good start and better then some who have joined to be honest.
Well its def that a start. I havent been editing this stuff long started when soa 2's first demo hit and ship balance for the demo was up to us so I rolled up my sleeves and dove in. I cant say I have a straight up grasp on everything in there but I have a good idea of what most of the stuff in there does. The stuff I can do is really basic compared to what guys like you Major Stress, Danman, Mansh00ter etc can do.

Well if we can offer help...I'd love too!

Only thing is I'm a noob in modeling (made 2 models with basic forms) and imported them into sins...but apart from that I can't texture, code..whatsoever! Though I'd love to learn!

But since I've been watching BSG since it's beginning, it's the least I can do.

I would love the opportunity to work with you guys and improve my skills!

Hey i was wonderin bout the ships in the galactic fleet... at first i thought they will b only a few ships, like the galctica and the pegasus but then i saw the link for this mod and there were so many(from old series too). so since there r some very small battlestars r u goin to put them as frigates?? and hav pegasus and galactica type ships for Capitalships to b like the titan ships in 7DS???

Currently we do not have any ToS BS in the mod. Regarding the types of ships we want to keep that a secret for now. You should be able to find out when the mini beta is released.

Hey i saw the video of the battlestar galactica mod on youtube :D

first off really awesome!!! Glacatica looks cool, not many othr ships r shown though... and vid was fuzzy so i cudnt see the weapons firing effects in tht detail as i wanted, but the explosions were cool. (was tht ppls screams when the ship exploded??)

oh and i was hoping tht the phaze jumping thing wud look more like the series... u know suddenly deseaper in a flash... is tht being worked on??

im waitin for the beta release, will tht hav both cylon and human ships??? coz of not seen anythin bout the cylons ships here...

Chances are it will be released when entrenchment is released. We hope the additional functionality of the mini x-pack will help with things.
