Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

Looks good, have you thought about charging the 9 artifacts that you find randomly exploring planets?
I was just wondering because an artifact that shows the location of all gates seems like a good idea or something like the ancient super weapon on Dakara.

After messing with the explosions again for awhile, I finally got fed up. I can't get the timings quite right yet and no one that has gotten timings to look good has responded to me. So I decided to mess with the sounds. I have changed the intro theme to the Stargate Atlantis Title Theme. So, on the main menu screen you will hear the Atlantis Theme playing. I have also added one other song from when Atlantis rises out of the water. It replaces a random TEC song, so I haven't heard it in game yet.

The Main menu theme, though, sounds really good.

have you considered the damage from the asgard beam weapons?

we have been working on other things right now, like getting new models and such, plus getting the planets and solar systems ideas worked out first. The balancing of the weapons and such will come later on.

Yes we have.
And Balancing will all come later. If we are unable to balance it right (i.e. beams accessible way way too early) then the damage will be lowered. We will have to sacrifice stargate reality for gameplay. But I'm sure no one wants to play a mod where they can destroy a fleet with one or two ships.

Ok, someone turn the lights back on...

Damn that realism, your ship might be pretty, but I can't see squat. :) Might want to consider a serious increase to the amount of ambient lighting on your maps, see if you can get things more visible. Unless it's pitch black because of an oops.

It's just because of the map. The map's background is one of the really dark ones. It will be more visible against other backgrounds.

UPDATE:

I got back to work on the explosions. I think they look quite a bit better. With the help of Bailknight, I was able to create a 'chain reaction' explosion set.

-These were taken from the exact same camera angle and zoom level. I have tried to make the Capital ship explosions really epic. When a capital ship dies, you'll know it.

Thank you. But St. Anger is probably my single most favorite album and song of all time. Metallica is the rock band. I don't think I've found a song from them I don't like. Of course, though you mean that Metallica is amazing and St. Anger is your least favorite but is still an awesome song, right? ;)

I must say, I am impressed. The detail on these models are just simply awesome!

I understand that it is a pegasus galaxy mod you are creating, sounds cool. But I hope we will see a ha'tak motheship eventually, as those have the coolest spaceship design I have ever seen.

Anyways, keep up the good work! Looking forward to the release, whenever that might be :)

So far we are not putting a release date of any kind, dont want the pressure.

For research-

+ Asgard Core (Minor additions to shields/ weapons/ hull/ speed/ hyperspace opening time/ Antimatter)

Ancient-

Drone Weapons- (Adds Drone Weapons to ships)
Ancient Weapons Platform- (Allows you to construct an Ancient Weapons Platform-
(Season 1, Episode 19 - The Siege Part 1))
Ancient Shield Technology- (Requires Asgard Shields (Shield Upgrade))

USAF- (tech the humans themselves have made)
F-304 Hangers- (Unlocks Hanger Defense)
X-303- (Build able X-303s (Prometheus))
X-304- (Build able X-304s (Daedalus, Apollo, Odyssey))
Mark VIII/IX Nukes (increase missile damage)

Ancient Advanced Power Generator- (A working version of the one found on Season 2,
Episode 6- Trnity)

Those are all really good suggestions. The Mark IX's are going to be used only through beaming aboard enemy ships, as of now. The Asgard Core upgrades we already basically have, but I like the idea of another research that further upgrades all of the aforementioned aspects of the ships.

As for the Ancient's weapon platform. I think that might take the place of the Super-weapons such as the TEC'S nuke cannon. Probably have it use an ability with a huge range, but not big enough the cover the whole map..maybe a quarter of a system. Hopefully we can have it target ships and fire a beam at any enemy ship in sight (I believe it's a beam that it fires...it's been a while since I've watched that particular scene.) So, in other words, you have to, say have a cloaked jumper, sitting at the enemy's home planet or other planet and pick off their stronger ships one by one.

Ancient Star Map--Like this idea. I don't know how to get it to do that, but it would be cool if it would work. Maybe it could also decrease travel time between spacegates (hope to have a small delay before actually using a stargate i.e. dialing the gate, connection, travel time, etc.) The Star Map could increase the speed at which coordinates are entered since they would be able to upload all the coord. to their systems.

Basically I like a lot of your ideas. I've been trying to find new areas of research to start on, but I overlooked the most obvious ones. (Human and Ancients). I took them as basically a given. The Ancients 'research' will be much like the Asgard. Where research time would be more accurately describing as exploring, discovery and learning how it works.

Now we only need three more areas of research unless we just completely cut out the second window of research. So, keep the ideas flowing so we can have an expansive research tree.

Thanks for considering my ideas-
Another type of research could be exploration-
This might be something like colonizing other worlds (ice,volcanic) along with scout ship upgrades (like the probe upgrades for advent or the stealth upgrades for the vasari), and of course there is population, logistics, and tactical upgrades

For Replicators- (there might be something like)-
Ascension- I'm not sure what this would include but i remember that the Atlantis team found out that the replicators were looking for a way the ascend (for ideas i would look at what the advent have in their research tree I remember one being labeled Ascension

Anyway,

Just wanted to say, if you are stuck for any smaller ships for any of the races you are including or to persuade you to add others then ive got tones of ideas and would gladly do some concepts
