gold edition cheats

I bought the "gold edition," this apparently included the dark avatar expansion pack. However, the cheat commands will not work, is there something different I have to do?

Supposed to be the same, just make sure your adding the cheat command to the end of the game .exe and not the launch.exe.

You don't need cheat codes to win any more.... now we have the plaque mega event for a free ride to victory!!

Aye the cheats work...and for myself..I dont use the cheats other than to test out changes I make to the game..ie..like adding new ships to pop in once i reach a certain tech. Without these, would be a bit harder to test!

I appologize if this question has already been answered, but can anyone fathom a guess as to why I would be unable to add " " to the shortcut? It's odd but I can't add parentheses to the shortcut as described in the cheat. They keep disapearing whenever I click apply and then the cheats won't work.

I edit the shortcut with Launch.exe, by selecting the filename before the .exe and typing the required one. Then I add a space and cheat (lowercase). It works for me. I haven't tried making a new shortcut.

Can you be more explicit as to what to type and what to edit for cheats? I try to add the word "cheat" after the quotations and I get an error message that I have the wrong target. Help

I have Vista on my notebook. I am trying to edit out the target shortcut to say GC2DarkAvatar.exe" Cheat, but the computer keeps giving me an error message that I have the wrong target file. I also run as administrator. What should I do in order to allow the cheat codes for Vista? Please be specific. Thanks

The method for enabling cheats is shown on the wiki. It's the same for all versions and all windowses.
