AI is cheap when it comes to system deals!

ok... i try buying a star system from ai, even a class 5 or 6, and even when i give all my techs, money, even ALL of my star systems, they never say yes! so, to see how crazy ai is, i ask for a simple planet, offer then 25, 20 techs, 10000 BC, and all IP, they say no, this is with no influence problems.

then, i offer them a planet. i get under 100bc for mars, and earth won't get me 1,700!

i think this should be changed, but not so that you can kill a civ by buying all they got. mabye the more systems they have, the less value the planets have. if they have 3 planets, it should be almost impossable. and a planet with wonders should be hard to get. a class 26 should be harder then class 5, and capitols require so much that you could just build a super fleet and take it. the reason i want to buy them is to go further away, or even, when im about to loss, i can buy a planet from another race, far away, and try to rebuild there. this would help on a gigantic map.

merry christmas

oh, and planets with highre population and morale should be harder to get

One thing I'd like to see in GC3 is population by race.

That way, races would sell other people, but not their own (unless it's the Korx)

Realistically, how much do you think the US could get for Rhode Island, by example- they wouldn't sell it, or how much would the Egyptians take for Alexandria?

Realistically, you shouldn't be able to buy and sell people period.

In the UI... the blue icons to the upper right of the map... second row of icons...

Influence (default), population, industry...All by race displayed on the minimap... all this, in *GC2*...

There you go. Amazing, isn't it? Don't go telling people I'm not nice.

Impressive Wheel. Careful or you will ruin your image.

still, these are not humans, the korx should sell planets for money, there like ferangi!

The AI takes into account the likelyhood that said planet will be culture flipped.

So you can reduce the hideously inflated price of a planet by culture bombing it first? Well, that's something, at least.

I think the current level is a temporary fix for a BIG problem in TBS games in general. The AI never can really appreciate the subtleties of the global political dynamic, and the human can thus exploit it.

Examples: (Mostly from the Civ series)

Trading $$$ and Tech for a small world/city inside their territory. Immediately (same turn) trading the tech to the rest of the world to recap losses as well as undermine their trade position. Then relocate an invasion force to the newly acquired planet/city and attack from within.

Attacking an economically superior opponent in a daring deep penetration raid, selling the worlds to other powers immediately (same turn) so there is not chance of counterattack. The victim is weakened and must declare on multiple factions to recover.

Trading all of your borderworlds to a puppet ally so they must defend the entire frontier, leaving you safe in the pocket.

Until an AI can evaluate the true value of a world/city I'd rather NOT be able to trade them easily.

I had the same problem.
I have the largest empire and most powerful military.
I offer them at first 12,000bc for Planet class 11, I offer them my entire navy and then i offer all my planets and also my trade goods then even my influence points then I give all my technolgy(15-20 techs more then them) and even my attack treaty on both the arceans and drengin(2nd and 3rd most powerful) and finally my surrender.

And they say "tap, tap is this universal translater on, I must have missed the punch line. Why would we agree to this?"

I would have liked to say "You would agree to this because I am giving away the largest and most powerful civilization in the galaxy for a planet which has little more than a factory, a starport and a colony. Not even a bonus tile"

If they were smart they would have said "OHHH, now I get it. Just show me how to work those
PE Galaxy(96 total ATTACK and 54 total DEFENCE) class Avatars' of yours in and I'll even throw in mars"

If they were dumb they would have said " yeah, okey so whats your point?"

NOTE: This was demo dealing with altarians and they are warm towards me.
