Biggest planet you've seen

This one came up in my last game, It was a Drath planet, Class 19, and then they got the event which doubles the planet quality, once I invaded it, it became class 45 since I had picked the +20% PQ custom bonus. It's well over twice the size of any planet I've ever seen before. I wonder if it's possible to get one where every square is useable?

Class 72 was my top, found it fairly early in my playing experiance, havn't seen one since.

Heres a link to my original post with a picture and save game file.

By the way, before I get accused of cheating/modding again, note that three seperate devs all commented on the post, and none of them made any inclination that it is not possible (I doubt the would care if they knew it coldn't happen).

I saw 32 at my biggest.

Addtionally you'll note only like 41 building tiles there... The 20% or 10% or you can mod and change it to 5000% racial bonus does nothing but increase the number. It's pretty crappy and useless except on any planets you start with which in sandbox mode is just your homeworld. There, and there alone, it increases your useable tiles. If you can't see this very well with 10 or 20 simply change it in your custom race config in "my games" folder or alternately the abilities.xml to some number you can see. This increased number will allow you to have more population on the planet but that is not that great a bonus in my book, especially considering the 8 customization points it costs!

Hi!
Class 26 from the start. I took it as the third of all planets. Now it's turn 170 and it has 6 factories, but still 5 tiles free, with NO TERRA done yet. Just can't build there fast enough.

Thanks for the tip, I never really bothered to count them. I really hope they fix the custom attributes in the next patch, at the moment everything except diplomacy and economics seems to either majorly suck or do nothing at all.

Anyone know if that is a bug or a design choice? I think its a bug because your first planet does get different tiles if you take planet quality bonus (10 -> 12) but none of the other planets do.....

Hopefully this is clarified / fixed soon, 8 pts for a small bonus like added max pop is pretty poor

Actually, the game can generate a planet up to PQ 100 (from the planet file). But as you can clearly count, anything above 72 is pretty much useless. Instead of some people who just raised planets PQ to a zillion, I used a mod that increases the bonus tiles that Soil Enhancements, Habitat Improvement, and Terraforming gives. I haven't mod the game again since I switched to the beta, and have been missing it quite a bit. If you're looking for more tiles, that's probably the best way to go (and fairest too). Although I'm just going to wait for the official release of 1.1 with mod support before putting all of that stuff together again.

In one of my recent games, I found a class 32. But the thalans got it first, and became the major power. Damn bugs.
