What're they doing that I'm not?

How is it that almost every civ has built a super-project (econ. capital) within 30 turns of my game? That's from ground 0, no reloads, etc.

Am I missing something? Are they spending their entire treasury on getting their planets going faster?

The AI does love the economic capital. On campaign missions where you start with the tech to build it, the AI often rush buys the econ capital on the very first turn.

After the econ you will usually see them grab the Manu Cap next.

You can build them pretty quickly , there is an option to focus your production in Military/Social/Research and i am pretty sure AI uses it as much as i do.

Try clicking the small bullseye like icon on your planet screen next to industrial capacity readouts

There is a reason the aliens are always broke. Of course the minors are capital happy and they always seem to have plenty of money, I guess they are heavy on the social development side of things.

Well the minors in this particular game (the dark yor and caranoidsdsaicarinoi?) already have the highest tech rating out of every known civ. How's that right? haha Nobody wants to trade with me either unless it's a bum deal, so I'm playing completely on the defensive right now.
