One of my big grudges with the new name is that they took away personalization. I like being able to call my Playstation 2 a PS2. Not because it's shorter, but because it's personalized. The same reason I like WindowBlinds or any other customization software; it makes my computer unique, mine. Nintendo thinks it's impossible to abbreviate Wii, I beg to differ. Unless they change the name, I think I'll prefer to call it the W2.

Nintendo announced today the *ahem* revolutionary new name for their console gaming system, "Wii". According to Nintendo's website, the name arrives out of an attempt to have a short, compelling name that evokes the feeling of a community experience. And, they didn't want anyone making a shortened version of their new system's name, like the 360 or the PS3. W2 is expected to draw quite a negative initial response, which is why NoE (Nintendo of Europ

Dang, I forgot all about this thread today. I know it was mentioned earlier that if you've really been involved in the skinning community for a while you can eventually know who did a skin just by looking at it, but that type of style continuity can easily be duplicated, even if it's not as high quality. In the end, it's not the thematic style or the skinner behind that style that a judge should be evaluating, but the skin itself. And of

I think it would be simple enough if the judges were not allowed to know who created a skin until the results were final. This may go against other principles of the event (ex, judges being able to communicate with participants to make sure that everything is installed and working correctly), but I would imagine there could be workarounds (in the same example, have a mediary party involved to help make communication remain anonymous). While there are still a whole lot of functions that I don't know about in GalCiv II, I have yet to run across any way to record your gameplay, in the same vein as WarCraft III and Starcraft, just to mention a couple. Personally, I would find it very handy to be able to record my own games for even more in-depth post-mortem analysis, as well as view other, more experienced players' games to learn new strategies. Let me know if this is alread

Here, here! After purchasing the Apogee set, I find myself starting to go to the IconPackager section, but stopping and thinking "Eh, what's the use?" Really, I can't see a way you could top this icon set. Simply amazing work.

Well, Google's farce has finally collapsed on them. They only want to make money! How dare they? And with advertising to boot? What kind of moral decay would allow a business to use advertising to make money. If something does not exist within a three mile radius of me, I don't want to know about it, because I don't need it and I certainly don't want to buy it. Really, I'm just happy I have an anti-virus scanner, anti-spyware scanner, a
