Some cool news I recently saw.. Starpoint Gemini 3 will be released soon and has added mod support which is good as the game looks super similar to Freelancer (they even added a mini Sirius sector to the game lol) so if there was ever a good candidate engine for a future Freelancer mod it's this game lol. This is pretty cool! I just found/dug up this old Civ2 scenario from years ago. A user named Metropolis has recreated classic Star Control adventure in a HUGE Civilization 2 scenario. You can colonize planets in different solar systems (separated by red hyperspace) and play a real sandbox style SC game. He's filled this huge galaxy with known SC aliens and cool story events.
