Hi, everyone, I'm in the later parts of a game with a huge galaxy and there are only three of us still around. My two opponents, the Drengin and Yor, are allies. What means do I have to break them up? Or will I have to take down both of them at once? (I believe this is not possible in my game so I'm hoping I can get them at each others' throats.) Scott ~SDC~

If you sell a trade good to one of your opponents, how long does he have it for? Forever? Is there any way to stop letting him use it? It would seem that the value of trade goods far outweighs any one-time payment deal that you can negotiate for a game on a huge galaxy. Scott ~SDC~
Missing resource bug: a resource disappeared from my map. My constructors are on their way there in the save game but the resource is gone. I have an auto-save where the resource is still present. Mail me at drummonds@yahoo.com for the save games. Version: 1.03A.057 Date: 5/19/03 Scott ~SDC~
Hello, everyone, I've got some beginner's questions. I haven't yet beated all Normal AI opponents, so I know I'm doing something wrong. I'm just starting to do some early game slider micromanagement. Plus, I've learned the importance of trade so I'm not having problems making money. However, I still do have the following problems/issues: 1) Despite having tech bonuses, I always fall behind in tech. I've heard that I should be trading tech more often but it seems that the
Hi, everyone, I posted four new threads here last Thursday morning (PDT) on bugs that I found. I also added a reply to the "Bug Report Thread" thread. Lastly, I mailed a bug report to support@stardock.com at the same time. I haven't gotten replies from the developers/QA/customer-service people at any of these locations. Are these posts being read? Is there a better place to send bug reports? Thanks, Scott ~SDC~
But isn't 75% the default??? That's what mine is ALWAYS set at until I change it. Anything else I change it to (try 0% or 100%) reverts to 75% when starting the game back up. Scott ~SDC~
BTW, when I transferred this save game to my desktop, the game did not lock up. However, my political party got screwed up. Perhaps the senate information is stored outside of the save game? Scott ~SDC~
Hello, In an effort to fix the game lockup I was experiencing on my laptop, I transfered my save game files (just the .sav file and the folder of the correct name) to my desktop. During the first election, my party, mercantiles, went from 77 seats in the house to 0. The technologists went from 0 to 75 (or so). It is perhaps not coincidental that in the last game I played on my desktop my party was the technology party. I think that the save game doesn't properly store the po
Another issue: the sound volume is saved in any way for this game. I think that you may want to save it once per session. However, saving it once per game would be acceptable. Having to bring the sound back to the needed level after every restart is unacceptable. Thanks! Scott ~SDC~
I think that I mis-posted by starting new threads for bug reports. Do I need to repost my bug reports here? Scott ~SDC~
I got really PO'd last night when a small attack ship flew on up to one of my starbases and wiped it off the galaxy. I was kind of use to the MOO setup where planets (and starbases) had a reasonable defense that required substantial firepower to overcome. As such, I had no additional support present. Can anyone suggest a minimal defense strategy for a pacifist/social-conquest game? How can I get my starbases up and know that they're be safe from small raiding parties? Should I have
I believe this is a bug: when ever I restore a saved game the status message that is delivered upon start up always says "You are falling behind technologically." This seems to be the case even when the technology graph has me at double the value of my next nearest competitor! Scott ~SDC~
I'm sending the following message to support@stardock.com, with two save games attached. Hello, My fully-updated (as of last night) version of Galactic Civilization is locking up on me. The end turn button in the lower right corner changes to a clock signal. I've never seen that symbol for more than a fraction of a second before but I've waited for as long as five minutes now and it does not return to the normal "turn" text. I'm playing on an IBM ThinkPad T30 running
