Perhaps a mobile anti-matter producing ship, like the Supply wagon concept in Rise of Nations?

As long as everyone brings their own booze they are ok...... ;)
Perfect actually... :)
I think the basics of today's air warfare still would come into play - 1) camoflouge/avoid being detected 2) speed/manuverability 3) killing power at both a distance or closer. 4) Frame strength/armor/shielding. You would think that sensors could see in what we now call an over-the-horizen mode but that would all be predicated on the enemies ability to mask himself in some manner. The ability to kill at closer range is direclty proportional to this. I
Learned something from that Wiki article. I had no idea only a percentage of resources were mine based on the planet's allegiance. Yikes! (:(
Life was grand when you could get a 1200 baud connection at a board instead of a 300 baud one.... :) Thanks for revealing part of the Frogboy's and you'alls past...
I shall reluctantly vote for McCain. I am a life-long Conservative (I voted for Richard Nixon my first time.) Obama is bringing an old Jimmy Car-tah agenda that didn't work then and sure won't work now. What really might work is clean out all politicians on both sides and start over but that is just a fancy. I am starting to believe in term limits...
Posting anything about Indiana is great! :)
Firefly yes. Dresden Files yes. The winner would be a series based on Roger Zelazny's books on The Nine Princes of Amber. Amber is the real world were the occupents of a chosen blood line can manipulate "shadow." Earth and every other place you can time exists in shadow and these folks have the ability to get there as well as create stuff. There is a story of sibling struggles (nice aliteration eh?) plus just ooodles of good stuff. It would sell big as a mov
Nice. And with SOASE Colors as well... Thanks Brad & Co - I will use it!
He-he and even more if you say you saw them do that song way back in blah blah blah with Aerosmith.... I wasa TI-99/4A kinda young man..... :)
I keep a second fleet of sieges with some frigates for support for clean-up duty only...
1) Some things you absolutely need like Fleet logistics, planet settling techs and the upgrade to certain types of ships based on your battle preferences. If there are multiple stars you need to jump to them as well. Basic repair and air defense can figure in here as well. 2) I would consider those techs that allow you to get resources quicker, build things for less, cause population to grow are kinda in the second group. 3) Then there are the rest. It is nice to know whe
Good stuff Use the Evacuator's "Drain Planet" ability. It's a quick way to do a ton of damage to a planet, and get a ton of resources to boot. However, it takes some time to get...Hope this helps, and good luck on Vasari!
For real! Not only do you drain resources but you kill the planet fairly quickly. It's my new crack cocaine... :)
54. My other main game is Forgotten Hope 2, a mod to the Battlefield 2 series. That one I play online and my reflexes are still good enough (maybe) for that. SOASE I just play SP...so far..
He-he figured this out yesterday myself. Once you build the nodes you jump like between star systems or as the Novalith Cannon shoots rounds. These nodes are also outlets to your Returning Armada tech and you get freebie shipses up to your fleet capacity.
Your trade port tech is not very far off. Research it ASAP and between building fleet allow to add these in your logistical makeup.
Yippee! Thanks dudes!
On a TI-99/4A me and the kids would type in DOS programs out of Computer Age Magazine (still have a few of them). I remember the text based Star Trek games, Commander Keen, Spiderman vs. Dr. Doom, Commando. Age of Empires was a mega jump in gaming....
I usually build this type Cap Ship first and after researching it, set the automatic use of Colonize to Disable. Too many times I've wondered into new systems for the Cap Ship to acquire a planet and use anti-matter instead of killing a Cruiser or two... Once the system is clear I manually use the Colonize ability.
I think it is a good idea as it would reflect a real warrior approach to a campaign. The effect to the individual player? Some may not give a damn and those that are into micromanagement will have something else to keep them busy. I would like to see not any of my ships perish... A multiplayer mindset is probably different though than mine. :)
Great post and I also vote for sticky status... Brings a lot of tech concepts together rather nicely. :)
Another Hoosier here from Jeffersonville IN USA. We are the Sunny Side of Louisville KY and try to teach those folks in Kentucky how to play basketball...
Well I thought the show was shiny and it's too bad its air thru the intake now.... :) I loved the whole pretense of it - the characters, the verbalizations of an older antiguity and the just we are tuff enough to make it it wherever attitude.. I could see another movie but it would have to have a REAL good script with a couple of sparkly new characters.
A related question about AI levels - what exactly occurs when you level up the AI? More cash I presume?Easy/Normal/Hard all have the same cash level. They don't "cheat", they get the same resources the player does. The main difference is in how aggressive and smart they are. Several Hard AI's are also much more likely to gang up on a player then Easy/Normal ones are, as of 1.0.4.Unfair AI does cheat.
Thanks Tridus! :)
