All those that he mentioned have workarounds. See that ? in the corner of a project build. Tells you everything you need to know. Granted, I don't use governors to build. They have a habit of being ignorant of new projects added to the build project list. The major annoyance I see is when I route a 50 or so ships to 34 different spots on the map and 23 of the ships are intercepted. They don't continue on their path after erradicating the obstacle. An Excalibur shouldn't even have

Here's another one, Current game has me totally in control. The main races left are the Drengin and Yor. The Yor's treasury is at -80 TC (that's trillion). I put them there by attacking them with almost 120 Dreadnaught/Avatar/Overlord/Excalibur ships. Seems they can go over the -500bc limit. The problem is their stats say they have the #1 treasury. Yeah right. The Drengin have 3,467BC and I have almost 20 TC. They don't even rate ahead of any of the minor races. So how can they

Liberals by definition are those that want to do a lot, but never do it. They are well meaning and care a lot for their fellow man, but lack the ability to finish what they start. A democrat friend of mine once told me "if you want something done, get a republican to do it". But anyway, this isn't meant to flame any groups. I do say that a number of the minor races are very comical....hippies, liberals, NOW, etc.

I was very fortuneate to have played Gal Civ I on OS/2. Even at that time, it blew the socks off every game of its genre. Then the demise of OS/2 had me trying out MOO2 and I liked it but I thought it was too easy. The one thing I immediately noticed with CalCivIII (for me it's the 3rd version) is that I had to throw away all I knew about MOO. In MOO, the further you went into the game, the more you micromanaged. You settled a new planet in the late stages of a game and you had to build eve

Don't get me wrong:-) I've played GalCiv on OS/2 years ago and still have it running. I learned a lesson the hard way - GalCiv is not like any other Civ game. It takes a careful balance of spending and income to keep in the game. It's always much easier for the AI since it "sees" everything. Now I cheated on my 3rd game by overriding the fog-of-war...I.E. trainer that I wrote. The Arceans did in fact have 3 systems at the onset with 2 colony ships ready to take 2 more. Granted,

I've played GalCiv 9 times now using a number of posts here and they work quite well. It's difficult at first seeing that you don't put out every social project you get. However, even if I go with a small number of 0 maintenance projects, I still find my planets spending more than they take in. I have just one ship at every system with 2 social projects and a host of galactic wonders spread across a number of systems. The longer the game lasted, the greater the loss of money. It actually go
