It would seem that no one knows if this can be done. I hope this is possible. Could anyone help? Gary
Thanks for the info!!!! Gary
No one can see this post
Quick question....I bought the retail (version 1.0) and, thru Stardock I updated to 1.0X1. My retail version already had tutorials. Stardock lists Tutoral, Movies, Multimedia as sub-categories. Should I download those too...or are they not really going to add anything I don't already have. Also....does the Bonus packl contain anything that I didn't get with versions 1.0 and 1.0X. Appreciate the info. Gary</f
nevermind...problem solved....thanks!
Hey all...it was after reading this post that sent me to my local Best Buy to purchase this game. I'm so impressed with it. What I loved about GalCiv was that it was challenging yet simple to interact with. I can say the same for GalCiv II. I love this game and I've a feeling I'm going to get some sleepless nights playing this one. Very addictive. I think the UI is clean and user-friendly. The AI is remarkable and WOW....the ship designer. The
Hi all...just purchased my retail today. In-game says it's version 1.0. Stardock tells me there is nothing to update/download. Does this mean that I already have Bonus Pack and CE or is it okay to go ahead and download it and install. Super game BTW Gary
Oh...okay thanks. I guess I was confused about the expansion and AP when I was installing the latest update. Gary
Hi all, Been away for quite sometime and reinstalled GalCiv. I've got the latest version from Stardock Central (v1.22). Does this mean I also have AP? Gary
hiya StarPilot....thanks for the advice. I actually got Frontier: Elite II to work...man, it brings back lots of memories of nights with no sleep....same as Starflight. Wow...DOSBox helps to get MOO and Ascendancy working? VERY cool...I'm gonna check it out now. You're right about BC...it is closer to Elite than Starflight. I enjoy BC/UC immensly.
Yep...I still have Frontier: Elite II but couldn't get it to work properly. Starflight runs great though. Hey Amulek....glad to help with the inspiration. I haven't found a way to get sound volume increased either.
I haven't had that problem so far. I can quit the download anytime and then restart and it picks up where it left off. I haven't had to star over again yet. I hope with a 366 MB download that there will be some SIGNIFICANT changes for my efforts. Not a complaint but I haven't seen any posts yet as to what is different.
Oh yeah....I also remember the little astronaut tapping his foot at stardock if ya didn't do something after a few minutes of lack of input....LOL I still have the full games including maps, and launch code wheel/marker. :D
Not only was the original MOO a great game, the strategy guide was how a real strategy guide should be made...man, they don't make'em like that anymore.
Oh yeah Aragorn....I had both Starflight and Starflight 2. Man...they were super. did ya know that Starflight 3 is being developed? The dev team is making it as a free download game. Starflight was my first PC game. See www.starflight3.net The only game that seems to come close is the Battlecruiser series (including the latest title, Universal Combat). Very extensive game but well worth the effort to learn. check out www.3000AD.com Always great to hear from an ol Sta
Hi CariElf....no, it didn't...however I did hear from Jake at support and he said that he updated to my new email address. Now everything works GREAT!!! YAY. Now I don't have to worry about missing any updates. Thanks guys.
Thanks for the reply. I've tried changing it in my registration and wincustomize...no joy. So what I've done is uninstalled SDC, downloaded the newer version and just ignored the message that my email isn't valid. Hopefully, I won't miss out on any updates. Heck it doesn't seem to liek the old or new email addy. Ta heck with it.
Hi all, Man, I changed my email address and now it seems to be causing problems with StarDock Central. I started SDC and it download a new version of itself and then it told me that my email address was incorrect but I don't know how to rectify it. Can anyone help this desparate GalCiv player (I'd sure hate to miss out on updates and such. The error I got was that it failed to validate my registration. Thanks in advance...Gary [Message Edited]
I still have the game "Stars!". Great game but there is NO diplomacy in the single player game...only MP. It's a pretty intricate game but I really don't think I can compare GalCiv and Stars!...there are more differences than similarities. Gary
Thanks Frogboy...like I said...I was pleasantly surprised!!! YAY! Gary :D
I was a bit confused as well. Downloaded thru Stardock update version 1.20.85, yet nothing in the news section about it. Verified the version in the game too. Not complaining but never did see a "1.19" I guess it's been three days since the news was updated. Oh well....must say, pleasant surprise. Gary
That's true...I'll just keep my fingers crossed...in the mean time...more GalCiv!!!
Hi all....wasn't there supposed to be an update this week? It seems I recall reading (Posted on Saturday 8 Nov.which was last week) that the update was supposed to be out by now. Anyone know what's happening with it? Looking forward to getting it. Forgive the impatience. Guess I feel spoiled by the frequency of such things. Cheers
Thanks Mayito, Good to know that I didn't screw anything up!!
