Also the 1.3 does show up for the windowed version, which I don't use anyway. ~SDC~
I have logged on to SDC a few times looking for 1.3. It says that I have 1.2 but there is nothing listed under "available" although it says it was updated on 4/24/03. I tried refreshing, closing and opening SDC, and 1.3 never shows up. Any ideas? Thanks. ~SDC~
This forum needs an edit post option. I guess I better start proof reading my posts. Sorry for the spelling and bad grammer. :)
Well from your review Leto, you made the game sound horrible and not worth anyones time because of graphics and no tactical combat. And again, this is not a tatical game. It is not trying to be MOO at all. The sooner you accept that, and move on, the better. And I think Stardock realizes that some people want tactical combat. Flaming the game because of that is not going to help your cause. I don't know why you think they took a "shortcut" by not putting tatical warfare in the game. The
Last time, if this happened to you, you had to change the server to the Alanta server. Try that.
Leto the review in question (as well as yours) shows someone who wanted a push over AI, graphicly amazing game. His review was actually comical. Yours was better, but again, I don't think you grasp this game and think you should be playing Space Empires IV. Oh wait, that game really isn't pretty. NM wait for MOO4. Also did you notice the ranking of his review? Not to good.
Leto you so obviously missed this game completely. You just plain DO NOT GET IT. The concept of the game is way above your head. This is not MOO2 and is not trying to be it. It's a strong game on it's own that is deep and complex. I was not following this game much. I am not a die hard fan of the 4x games. But I really love this game and think it does everything right. From what I have read most people would agree. You want graphics and tactical combat. Fine, the game is horrib
Whoops...here is the link http://www.pcgr.com/reviews/strategy/product_2028.asp
ROFL Leto. Read the guys next paragraph. The game is too hard for him and he couldn't beat it on easy. He wanted a push over and couldn't get it. He obviously didn't grasp the game play at all. I suck at Gal Civ, but it didn't take long to figure out how to expand quickly. And his biggest complaint?? Not having a pretty planet view screen of the improvements. Something that would just be pure eye candy. If you are going to post quotes...post creditable ones at least. H
I didn't read this whole thread, just scanned (sorry got bored with it :) ) But Leto sounds like you want Space Empires IV. Its more of a MOO game while GalCiv is more of a Civ game. And Leto, you got the reaction you did because your comments were somewhat trollish. Obviously many people enjoy the game as is, and you come in saying that its practically worthless because of one thing that YOU think should be there.
Hmm...there was a resource open in a sector where there was a big battle with the Drengin for. I got there first and put a starbase on it. Cleared out all of his ships first though. I then watched as his 2 constructors continued to move to that resource. When they got there they just stopped, and eventually went away or I killed them (don't remember), but obviously the AI didn't know I had beat him to the resource until it got there. The AI is just very streamlined, I can get more plane
