Start 8 is really neither of those. It neither shows "most recent" nor "most used". I have purchased Start8 and installed it, and HURRAY, I have my Start Menu back!!! However, one of the most valuable functions of the Start Menu for me is the recently used programs. In this area, there is definitely room for improvement. The Microsoft Windows 7 list was very intelligent about keeping track of which programs that I "really" use the most, and bubbling them up to the top of the list.
