Is it the fun you have playing a game or the the score in the metaverse that really counts?? If I have had some hours of fun and my score is zero who cares? I don't - you might use 'cheese tactics' or not - it's still just a game. Enjoy it like I did since I signed up for Drengin Net about 6 months ago. This link seems to be only for those that downloaded Galciv. It says not available for Drengin.Net subscribers. When I initially subscribed to Drengin.net last year sometime in September to participate in the Beta for Galciv it was mentioned that we also could get the CD once Galciv is goes Gold. Login through SDC does not work in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I am no longer able to log into SDC. The message I get is "your stardock net account (email) has failed to logon to the Stardock Central servers.....). It used to work before for a long time without any problem. Also login on to DG - no problem. Have no idea what is wrong. Just want to make sure it works again until 26 March so I can get Galciv and Bonus Pack.

Encountered the same problem since 5B 'Spacebar' does not focus on next ship - but have to select turn button to continue. Another strange effect is that sometimes after moving autopilot ships turn is done without bringing you to ships launched before but not yet focussed on dureing present turn.

Just played %c on my Laptop and got an CTD. Forgot from where to download. Need to install it also on my laptop also - will try to reproduce CTD from save game.

You need to go to Tools - Settings and select "Show beta applications if available" under the Application header. By the way you will see now version 0.9.030 as update available - versus 0.9.028 you can get from DGM. But if you try to update no files are found. Another hint is that even when you install SDC on D: drive it will install downloads always on C: even if your DGM is also on D:.

When I am on bussines trips I play Galciv in the evening at the hotel on my old IBM Thinkpad 770 PII 233 128 Meg Ram WIN2000. I already played huge several times. Yes it takes some time from turn to turn but it is still playable. I found one trick that speeds up the whole thing and that is to change autosave to only every 3rd to 5th turn. By setting it to every 3rd I have 2 pretty fast turns and then one that takes longer. It would be interesting to find out if those of you with very fast machin

Other Language versions?? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Are there any plans to have other language versions later on available and also distribution channels in Europe. I can understand that this is not the priority right now - but as this is a great game but as it is rather complex to have local language versions and local language manuals would be great for people that are not that good in the English language. It's a strategy game with many facets you really need to understand (language wise) to be able to really enjoy it.

I am playing Galciv since it was released for OS/2. I have seen several version there and real enhancements from version to version - not only bug fixes. This convinces me that we will see the same on the windows platform. By the way I am glad the decision was made to bring it to the windows environment - because it's getting more and more difficult to keep a seperate Warp partition up and running on todays hardware. Possibility to disable some of the other races in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I was wondering if it is planned to allow to disable some of the races like it was possible in the OS/2 version. Implemented like in OS/2 when you selected the inteligence of your oponents another option below dumb was disable. It would be nice for a pretty quick game in the evening in the hotel when being on bussines trips.

When I play for a longer time I am always thrown out. Also the autosave throws me out again immediately. I have to start with a new civilazation each time.
