Static, tried your suggestion but even if I put Outlook as the News reader default, it still tries to run Outlook Express when I click on news.

Mrs Blondie66, I'm not sure if this will answer your question or not, but when I purchased the PixOS suite from Pixtudio, it replaced my desktop properties menu with one of there own and now when I right click on desktop, properties, desktop, it now reads both .jpg and .bmp files. Thanks kthxbye, but the solution on the web page (correct shortcut)doesn't work. You can't even start the program by going into the actual folder and clicking on the Outlook Express.exe file.

I'm not sure about this but when I want a window to open in a specific way, I just set it up the way I want it on the desktop and then close it. The next time it opens (as a general rule) it opens the way it was last used. I think that there is a way in WinXP to set this up as an option. In my humble opinion, Yes it is necessary to be able to update or patch various skins. I am not an artist or a skinner but I do emphasize with there opinions (creativity is pretty much synonomus with tempermental). It is a bit expensive, but you can back up many other files at the same time. (Not actually a backup program per se but you can pick and choose quite a few different files that you want to "protect") It comes with a link you can put anywhere (of course anyone from this site can set up links themselves) like on the desktop and it remembers whatever your last configuration was and backsup them all in about 3 to 5 seconds. I use a program named "Outback Plus" which will back up all the mail in Outlook to a file I keep on another drive. Then whenever outlook starts to slow down I just click on Outback Plus and when it is done I go in and delete all the various email files I've saved. If and when I ever need a particular email I can just restore the backup for that particular week, month, or year (depending on how often you want to run the cleanup.
