8.5/10. :CONGRAT:
I been trying for 24 hours. I am stuck at 0/0 bytes. This is not good for Impulse's image. If their is no copy protection, this online download patch BS is extremly annoying. Worst kind IMHO.
Try hitting the Blue Orb --> Preferences --> Connection and check the "Use New Downloading Mechanism" box.
Success!!! 4th time lucky. :HOT: @ Kryo: Sorry mate... at first I didn't understand what you meant by "alternate download option in the preferences" -- after a couple of Impulse updates this option eventually revealed itself. I enabled it, and it worked. I also reckon that the Auto Restart Impulse after Update option in the General preferences should always be enabled, too. Onward...!
How many kbps is your connection?
About 29.5kb/sec. Tried it again... same result, at the same point (80%). However, on the 3rd time it has asked if I'd like to Resume. I picked "yes", but it started from zero again.
Curious, are your downloads taking over 1 hour?
Yep. Sure are. I'm only 256 ADSL, though. I left it for 2 hours, and watched it change from 80.1% to "Download Error" when I checked it. I've restarted it, and it has started again at zero... doesn't Impulse resume?
I've been holding off starting a new game looking forward to this patch to improve the game.
Same here. It will arrive when it arrives, I guess.
... they (Stardock) have an ethic that says it's better to miss deadlines that put out crap.
I totally agree with this philosophy! ;)
I am going on seventy and I am not what the younger generation calls a "Geek".
Hehehe! That'll be *me* in 30 years time. Beauty mate! :CONGRAT:
Nah, sorry. Nothing is more effective than randomness for replayability. Just my opinion...! :D
1. I feel good about it. It's open for expansion which could bring in all sorts of possibilities. I'm awaiting the v1.1 patch. I've owned it for 2.5 months, and still going... 2. It *can* be challenging. Hope this helps...! ;)
BIG smiles! :HOT:
I'd just like to let you know that I'm living in Australia... and I've had absolutely NO problems updating SINS. Download speed is normal, and website access is simple. Dunno what you're complaining about?! :D
Nah. Sorry blokes. No time to play online. Family & work comes first.
I think it's just mighty fine the way it is. Random universes extends playability. I love it!
Hats off, fellas. Cheers! I'll start my next scenario now!
