Success! I finally was able to submit my first score using 1.05.068. I uninstalled the game fully, reinstalled, but kept my save games. The game I got in was started and ended with 1.04.059. When I originally submitted it, it said my Metaverse score was around 2300 points. Then, with the 1.04a.062 one (I think that was the one that had messed up scores), it said it was 25000 some points! Now, its back to 8000 points. Sheesh, I can see this Metaverse thing is going to be
I just tried resubmitting my military victory game with 1.04a.062. I don't see anything posted. The funny thing is with this version, my metaverse score came up as 25,000 some points! Last night with 1.04.59 it was only like 2,300! ???? :notsure:
Hi T-man, I submitted both of those scores last night with 1.04.59. One of them was even started and finished with that version only. I think I bought the game back when 1.02 patch was out and that was my first "update" to the game, but I've been updating the game on the same day or the very next day that every single patch has been released through SDC since owning it. Any more suggestions? I'd really love to partake in the Metaverse at some point :notsure: If y
Hello T-Man, I'm hoping you can get me working. I am logged in right now as "Atarex" with the e-mail of chadjd@yahoo.com I have linked my registration code with this account through the website process. I have submitted a lot of games and not a single one has ever shown up under "Atarex". Because of your firewall suggestions, I unplugged from the cable router and plugged my network card from my computer directly into the cable modem. I even chacked to see that I had
I don't think it does that either. I find StarDock Central a lot easier to navigate and read the forums than the web version way. :notsure: ~SDC~
I'm currently running 1.03A.57 and have been trying to submit about 3 games over the past week. I have not been successful, nor have I ever submitted a game successfully :notsure: ~SDC~
I agree, I'd like some feedback on this, meaning if its even a problem or something I'm doing wrong and missed. I've finished three games now and been checking the forums for days now and I don't see where anyone is being really successful at submitting lately. Personally, I've never gotten a game to submit. I've registered my player name with the reg code her at the site and all that. ~SDC~
I would love and option to auto-launch globablly but also have the option to not auto-launch colony ships, transports and constructors when this setting is turned on. Without that last options there, I think auto-launching globally would not be worth it (i.e. I don't think I would use it much). ~SDC~
I can confirm this one too. I notice it quite often and its a minor annoyance. ;p ~SDC~
Jeff, I am having the exact same problem as you. I have registered "Atarex" with my serial number here on the GalCiv.com site. I type in "Atarex" and the e-mail address associated with that account into the screen at the end of my games. I've never downloaded a MOD, only updated my games via SDC and other "bonuses" found there. After two attempts, with two different games, I've yet to see either appear. How long does it take for them to appear in the Metaverse listings if they DID w
I've had problems with that too. I've "registered" my Player here at GalCiv.com with the Registration Code as well. Haven't seen a game yet. There really should be a confirmation "yes" or "no" that it didn't work. ~SDC~
Doesn't it say somewhere that you need to be in 16-bit (high) color mode in Windows, otherwise it'll do exactly as you just described? Me personally, the one time I ran the windowed version, it immediately snapped to full-screen? :p ~SDC~
I went from Win98 to 2000 Professional. I've heard nothing but bad things about WinME. For the first 2-3 years of my current computer's life, I was using a 3DFX Voodoo5 card. It got the point I couldn't run anything and it was crashing quite often. The GeForce 3 card I bought single handly extended my machines life by 1 year. GalCiv extended by another as I don't want to play any other games and it run pretty well on my aging system ;p ~SDC~
Heh, actually yes. I'm running an original AMD Athlon 700 Processor. About 4 years old now? Geforce 3 card in Windows XP. Game runs great. ~SDC~
My biggest gripe is that I can't tell which posts are "new" since my last visit. I can sorta tell when viewing them in SDC, but not on the web version.
I have been playing Medium sized Maps/Loose Clusters OR Scattered/Sub-Normal AI. With these settings, starting position is the key to winning or losing as far as I can tell. I've NEVER seen the Altarians able to colonize more than 3 or 4 planets under the above conditions. Usually they never get more than 1 or 2 planets. Usually the same with the Torians. The Arceans and Drengin always seem to end up with the best spots AND/OR they colonize the most in 1.03. So t
Gamma adjustment inside the game might be a help yes (I have not seen this option). I played my first entire game until I realize the "green" sectors on the map were actually black during my second game. I adjusted the brightness and gamma setting in my video card settings and the galaxy now looks so much different AND better! LOL ~SDC~
