Most working Betas also have more Debugging running in them, this normally gets turned off in release, so I would expect some improvement. Perhaps not HUGE but some. But wait for a demo to be sure. I think you can change the PNG texture files and that might work, but it will take some playing around, and I will not do much until the release as things may change from Beta 4. But it does appear there is a way to Make or I should say change things to create a new NPC, the model side though I do not know. As I said I am used to altering the DDS files to do this but the pngs seem to be non bump mapped textures so I think it will work.</

I see a few PNGS that look to be skins, very few DDS files though, We changed lots of the DDS files to make custom Chars and NPCs in NWN2. I expected most of the textures to be DDS but it seems they are not. I think the HKB files are the models, though in what format I am not sure. It looks like many can be changed by redoing the PNG files, but not tried yet. Time to try a few things and see wha

Got asked a question I could not answer, help please. in War of Magic Stardock Forums

Hello all, Was asked today if the Graphics could be modded as well. Things like faces gear and the like, and I did not know the answer. Tried the Search function, that was not a good thing as it went everywhere and dropped in ads as well. So if anyone knows or saw a talk about it please point to it or let me know. I understand it will not be a base mod tool, but would be good to know. &

I feel for ya. If you find a computer just load Impulse and DL it. Buy the Book and read it. I too had a Vacation pushed into the release week, luckly I will be able to have my computer with me, just not enough time to play like I hoped. I liked Warlord for my mages. The 2 Guards were nice so I did not spend CPs on the weapon. Also when you can if your playing a Mage get a bow for them, nice to sit back and save mana in fights. The Disadvantages are heavy, as they should be, these can hurt you alot. The Advantages can be ok, but some can be made up by Heroes and Champions. There is a lot of stuff happening in the game. Really like the Beta. Stardock warned folks it was "Work in Progress" but many either did not read it, or more likely thought they knew what it meant and then were upset. Betas used to be less a market tool and more a way to test and get feed back. Most betas today are not beta but Pre-releases to push sales, and most feedback is ignored as the game is 99% finished. Still 16USD is a lot for a small page count book. 256 page book in Fantasy is barely a novel. I do think that it will hurt the sales of it, and then they will say well see the tie is was not worth doing, without ever looking at the real reasons as to why. Making it a Trade Style Book instead of a true paper back seems just a reason to gouge. and no an EBOOK has after a print book is made a VERY small cost.
