That's very possible- I've played a new game since and removing spies has been fine since then.

Over the course of a game, I built up a fine army of agents. Just under half of them were in one opposing empire, the others were all currently idle. I reached 'advanced' for that empire so decided to remove the agents, only to realise that it was working as if I was nullifying agents on their planet- I was losing an idle agent every time I removed an agent and also not retaining the removed agent as well. I want to see the outro video for the Dark Avatar campaign but I don't want to play through the entire campaign (to this point I've just been going through it in cakewalk mode but now I've got to a gigantic map, I can't be bothered anymore!). My galactic prison disappeared when loading the game. Also when loading the game, research, construction and money does not change for a turn. You can only move ships. (Think that second point is a known but though)
