just because a game is RTS doesnt mean that it is a hack in the tactical department .... perfect example is the total war series. that is a slow rts ... if it comes down you the speed of your mouseclicks and scrolling around the map then you are in the hurt locker anyways (for that game at least) for tactical battles to be implemented it has to be done right .... but at heart galciv2 is a strat game, not a tac game ps i like the idea of a tac add on ... hell mebey even contract

would like to comment on the "upgrading multiple ships bug" ..... when you upgrade using the upgrade all ships of this class box you are only charged for 1 ship but all the ships in the same class are upgraded ... btw i always use the cash option rather than the contractor option (if that makes any difference to you guys) .... my last upgrade cost 6700bc per ship and i upgraded 4 ships, but only cost me the 6700bc rather than 26800bc i would like to add nice work on 1.2 .... been play

to tell you all the truth, i have had the most fun when i had no idea what the hell was going on .... sure i got raped by the ai on quite easy levels, but damn i had some good times

I think that there should be a chance that when an empire colapses, it spawns pirates which would be the rogue leaders of the doomed race's military. that would be fun. They could also occur frequently in war zones, giving a nice "I just destabilized the galaxy" feel. that sounds like a fun idea big jim

i dont think it is ballenced at all, nutrallity has all the trump cards and good just plain old suxors, evils not bad, but good sux. The only advantage that good has is with diplomacy with other good guys, but nothing that neutral cant do (especially with the extra trade routes that you get)

i would like to see some options for space combat much the same as their is for ground combat, but at the moment i dont have any real problems with space combat as it is now i dont want tac combat .... and these are my reasons ok well i do want it, who wouldnt, if it was done right, BUT, i dont think it would really add that much to the game and the time spent doing the programming would be better spent on other facets of the game and of corse the big one, can/wo

i find starbase defences to be a massive waste of money. to get some kind of real defence the outlay in money, time and production is far to prohibitive, esspecially when some chump fleet worth a pinch of the resources that you have pumped into your starbase smashes the hell out of your starbase ..... use your resources better and build more ships (i like the idea of having a stockpile of constructors to quickly replace destroyed starbases)

mebey try a smaller map and less civs? ..... just a sugestion got the latest patches for everything? defragged your harddrive lately? more ram never hurt anyone either i dont think there is much else

This time, I went with +50 diplomacy, +20 research/economics, and Populist (+20 morale/diplomacy). This meant that I started the game with +70 diplomacy... you specilise your civ that much in diplomacy and wonder why every civ does whatever you say? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-

i agree with the offencive guys. If i build my fleets with a bias towards attack, then "I" have the tactical advantage by deciding when where and who i attack ..... if i turtle up and build defencive ships then i lose many tactical choises and am resigned to defence without my offence

personally im not really into rts, im more of a fps kinda guy ..... anyways, this is a way diferent pace .. a nice big juicy map can take up to a week to finish or shortish? on small maps? (i dont play small maps so i dont really know) and requires a different kind of concentration (its good to be able to leave the computer) the game was much cheeper than an ordinary game from where i got it from (2/3 the price) and i rate it highly as a deepthinking slow turn based strat

I really like the first post ... i dont like that part of the game, the surrendering race should then become several minors (same picture as the original race but with different colours???) anyways, i hope they change this

I dont see what is the problem with the concept of fighters in the game? It can just be used as another weapon and added into the teck tree (cant be that hard ... the teck tree is pretty streightforward ... though long, just the balencing and cost issues) and add in another defence to use against fighters i see fighters as just another weapon system, not a radical depart from the game .... and would be a welcome addition to the game

in my last game i had the AI ask me for an allience (he even payed me some cash for it) .... but beware .... the AI then proceded to declare war to every other AI and drag me into it all

i like to be able to make the game more of what i want to play, the type and pace of game that I want to play. I like to be ABLE to turn teck trading off, to be ABLE to turn minor races off, to be ABLE to turn off resorces seems to me a reasonable request .... more freedom to the player "I" find half the fun of this game is in the journey, to tell you the truth, I think winning isnt everything in this game, but having fun with some of the game mechanics in teh journey of my civ <br

so for clarification purposes? all bonuses for a specific bonus (ie economics, military production, ect) are an "addition" to each other rather than a "multiplication" then this figgure is "multiplied" by your tax rate setting (the .5 for 50%) then the figgure is "multiplied" by 34.5 (or so?) what is this figgure? a randome figgure that the math told you? ... im thinking that it could be a difficulty modifier mebey? btw nice work, and bring on the social military calcs also

The miniaturized guide to miniaturization Doing some research of my own, found a few questions about miniaturization and not many answers (none that I could find), so a couple of hours of research and testing later …. Here it is. Each of your miniaturization tecks adds to a total pool of a miniaturization bonus. This bonus is applied to your hulls space i.e. A "medium" hull ship has a base size of 38. With 25% miniaturization (Enhanced miniaturization) it will have a new hu
