You could always mod the game so that some weapons give defensive bonuses against other weapons: Point Defense Laser: +1 beam attack, +1 missile defense Expanding Sphere Generator (from SFB): +5 beam attack, +2 cannon defense, +3 missile defense Armored Depleted Uranium Cannon: +1 cannon attack, +1 cannon defense Phased Polaron Beam: +3 beam attack, +1 beam defense (from phased energy distortions) And just a thought... ca

Hmm, I wonder... can I create a component or tech area which has multiple prerequisites? E.g. if I wanted a "Phased Polaron Beam" which has the requirements of "Phased Energy Weapons" and "Beam Weapons"... Yeah, I know, I should try it out myself, but I'm kind of afraid to mod anything until the mods folder is properly implemented! Or is it already in there, just not documented?
And how about an "auto-upgrade" which replaces all obsolete components with newer versions of the same component (e.g. it replaces Laser I with Laser III, but not with Phasor I, since Phasor I is bigger)?
I created a new Stardock account (though I think I used to have another one with an old email address) to buy GalCiv2, and lo and behold, in addition to GalCiv2 I find Object Desktop Theme Manager on my list of purchased software! Does it come free with an online purchase of GalCiv2, or is it just freeware, or was there a glitch in the system or something?
