It's unrealistic to have your friends park a huge fleet in your territory without your permission. Hence, it is annoying! If Great Britain decided to send a tank battalion outside of New York City without permission (i.e. an open borders treaty), there would be all sorts of trouble even though they are a close US ally.

I downloaded the game from steam a while ago and finally got a chance to play. My first game was awesome and epic! I had a fun cold-war period with the Sorcerer King, a harrowing hot war with him, then a nail-biting final battle where I took the SOB down with my last surviving hero. I really enjoyed it - hats off to the dev team. I also found it to be quite beautiful - the art and music is a huge step up from FE. Good show, dev team! I've returned to

Is there any way to get the AI to respect my borders? Even when I'm overwhelmingly superior to an AI player, they freely admit they don't respect my territory and ask for an open borders treaty. It seems as though no AI player actually stays outside of my territory and I don't have the option to yell at them to get out in diplomacy...

Is there any incentive to diversify your fleet with ships of different sizes or is it best to just crank out the biggest ships you can make (as in Galciv 2)? I'd personally prefer some incentive to have a mixed fleet (i.e carriers, battleships, cruisers, frigates) rather than just a fleet packed full of battleships.

There are several different sovereigns to choose from, but have you considered having different ENEMY sorcerer kings to choose from? (You would still only play against a single SK per game, but just like your sovereign he could be a different class). It would be a neat avenue for replay-ability to be able to play against several enemy SK's that behave very differently and have different lieutenants. Some ideas:

Dear Stardock - I've noticed that SK and Galvic 3 are both progressing very nicely. Personally, I tend to wait for the inevitable nice steam sales before I get games. However, I eventually plan on owning both titles. Based on where the games stand (both seem around the Beta 3 or 4 mark), I suspect the release dates will be pretty close. Would you consider a release bundle including both SK and Galciv3 - maybe both games for 15 or 20% off? That would

I personally like the idea that player skill and tactics can and should make a difference, particularly in a closely matched battle. Certain battles should be lopsided, tactical combat can and should have some strategy to it other than just clicking the enemy or why have it?

As a long time fan of Stardock's (I own all the titles since Gal Civ 1), I am intrigued by SK. I like the concept of the game and the asymmetry - it could be a nice fresh take on the 4x games, which at this point, all are starting to feel a bit similar. My concern is this: the game seems to use the creaky Elemental engine. No one, least of all Stardock, has good memories of the original Elemental. FE/LH was a vast design improvement and a ve

Yes. I've had major midgame performance issues since launch. Graphics get choppy and there is quite a bit of lag after I reveal more than a small amount of the map. Reducing the graphics options helps a little bit, but doesn't resolve it. This has very slightly improved since the patches from launch to make it playable midgame, but it still makes it quite a drag. Also get a fair number of crashes as you are. My compu

Glad to see that Stardock is aware of this issue. I've supported Stardock since Galciv 1 and I've come to expect excellent post-release support (far surpassing any other game company) so I'm hoping they can fix this issue. From what I've played FE is very well crafted, this midgame FPS issue is just making it unplayable. Did anyone encounter this in the beta? Or is this new since release?

I've turned off the outlines and in fact put the graphics settings to the lowest level and yet the issue persists. Massive FPS hit in the midgame. Others are having the same issue - someone posted a video of it on another thread. I understand the game has quite a bit of detail, but this drastic of a decrease in performance versus early game seems to be more than that. My system is pretty modern and no slouch. I know Frogboy said his co

Hey, just want to say that I have the same issue. Windows XP, a solid nvidia card, a modern computer. It isn't a problem with my hardware being able to handle modern games. The game starts out fine at 60 fps, but about midgame the fps drops to around 10-20. Taking off all the bells and whistles (ie shadows, terrain objects, anti-aliasing, pedestrians, reducing resolution... everything) only help a little bit. It's still pretty

Suggestions for patch in the near-term: *Phase Jump Inhibitors need to be more effective *AI retreats too much. It's smart not to fight a losing battle, but it needs to figure that some planets he can't afford to lose no matter the cost. Strategically, his last stand shouldn't always be at his homeworld. *Make the alerts a little more intelligent. I don't want to know when an enemy scout has jumped into my ally's territory, but I do want to know when a sizeable enemy fle

One year, while having difficulties downloading Galciv2 at release, I posted the following: "While I am sure the game is fine, your SDC program is painfully slow and annoyingly unintuitive. A "strategy" that relies upon restarting the game until you get nice tiles on your home planet is more of a cheat. There are plenty of other ways to pursue a military victory that do not rely on cheating.

I've been having the same problems since the 1.1 patch. All videos ran fine in 1.0 but come 1.1 some have consistently been really stuttery (while others have been just fine). My computer and video card have more than enough horsepower to handle this and my drivers are fine; I suspect a bug.

I agree. For instance, when you get a new level of lasers it should tell you how much the size decreased, etc. I don't suggest removing the current text, but rather adding a small window with all the most relevant information.

Trade can easily make up 25+% of your income. The larger the map, the bigger the payoff due to the distances. Usually, the extra trade income is what makes the difference between running at 75% industrial capacity and 100% industrial capacity. The positive effect on relations with multiple races lets you fight only wars of choice. The extra money helps you bribe other races into entering wars when you need some help. I've played games where I've paid other races to be my military for me, wi
