Hey everyone Just thought I'd get on here and gloat alittle LOL Won my first cultural victory. Yes it is true that I was playing at beginner level, but since I am a beginner I felt as though I did pretty good overall. Of course I was learning more and more about the game as I played through. I do have a question if anyone cares to answer my pompous butt hehe. I was wondering

Is there a way to flip or rotate an add-on component. Sometimes when they sit themselves they are not the mirror image of the opposite side. Example, I tried to place two hyperdrive engines near the rear of one of my ships. Two hot points same distance away from one another. I placed one engine and it faced outword. I placed the second engine and it was outwards too ( The same direction as the other ). In a case like this you dont want >>>> >>>> You want >>> and I cant seem to ach

Hello everyone, I am running into a problem here that I am not sure exactly how to fix. I am hoping that one of you pros out there will be able to lend me some help. My problem is my population is growing to the point that my approval rating is starting to fall. Is there any way of telling da' horny bstrds to stop frolicking? I know you can send them to new colonies but to do that takes money and ships. I am looking for more of a chasity belt fix than a send them out and multiply fix. Any help?

Hey everyone, the game is simply awesome. I will admit that it is a bit overwhelming even with the GREAT video tutorials. There is just so much information available to you all at once... I find it hard to focus on which direction to head first. At last, I have been on the computer all day and to be truthful, my butt hurts! So I believe that I will take my leave from the game and you good folks so that I may rest up for what I can assure you will be a marathon session later on <img src="smiles/S

Yes I received the same email... very disappointing Should I reorder with stardock? I really really really want the collectors edition. If walmart is delayed and collectors edition is almost out ... then Im thinking Im doomed

Anyone who ordered the game via Walmart.com should take note that they are saying that Stardock is scheduled to ship no later than the 23rd. They also said that as of 8pm CST tonight (tuesday) they did not have the game in their computer system. So those of us that ordered through Walmart (only one of three online sources ((if you include stardock) to provide the collectors edition) should expect a delay. Lets hope we have it by tuesday of next week.... It's gonna be a LOOONNNNNGGGG weekend!

Hello everyone, I am reading some of these post and they are so aggressive that I wonder the sanity of the writer. People are writing in complaining about download times ... AARRGGHH! Today is the national release of the game. Just think of how many people are online trying to do the exact same thing you are. Some are complaining that the game isnt working right only to later find out that they were doing something wrong. And then some have legitiment arguments that they are finding bugs withi

distance between your first and third forfinger on the screen map. an example... Use your first forefinger as a starting point on the monitor screen. As you are doing this use your third forfinger on the same hand and place it on your destination point on the screen. This will give you the formula to ascertain the correct parsecs you wish to travel. Add the number of squares you see on the screen between the two forefingers. Divide this number by 4 and then add 6. You should have it. HOWEVER, I

I have a powerful desktop computer that will handle the game three times over, yet I also have a laptop that was made neons ago and falls within the bare minimum. So ideally, Stardock has targeted their strategy for me. I'm very happy!

I never order though ebworld.com just because of that exact problem. Amazon isnt all that much better either. Best chance to get the game is to preorder from a retailer in your area. Perferably Gamespot or Best Buy. They seem to have a better record for these things. The trick with your local store though is to order early, especially if you live in a small area. Stores in small areas tend not to get the same number of units as a larger metro area. So ordering early guarentees that you show up n

with or without the variances, I will still be glad to get my hands on the game! It would be nice though to see more than one variance to each moral, races, situation though. I know, I know.. I want my cake and eat it too. But seriously, how many times can you play the game before the same defeat messages arise again and again. All I am saying is that there should be more messages for every variable than just one. Just my opinion so dont hammer me too hard lol

Hello everyone. I was reading the "Game Example: Altarian Downfall" post and I realized that there was something wrong with the game. Each time a race becomes lost the message received is exactly the same. "Our war is lost. Before we are completely obliterated, we have decided that we shall surrender our remaining worlds to the _______ (fill in the blank) empire. Our fate is in their hands" With so much work done with the speech of the game this sorta surprised me. I would have thought it

Hey everyone I have been going over the many screenshots from the game and I have noticed that there are not any of ground warfare. From what I understand there is suppose to be massive planet battles. If this is true, I was wondering why there isn't any screenshots of it. Any input would help

LOL.. I saw the name of this post and surely thought it was a joke from the dev team... They said they were going to create a post named almost exactly the same as this one as a lark! Sorry you are having problems but I just wanted to chime in with the wierd coincidence.

multiplayer? I sure hope that Stardock doesn't spend its time and resources to create a multiplayer version or expansion. I for one will not buy it. In multiplayer you set yourself up for many different problems that could and would diminish the game play value. Multiplayer games have been historically ridden with cheaters using little programs to ga

It doesn't really have anything to do with distributor's. The only stipulation that a company needs to charge you tax is that they have a store in the state in which you live. So if there is an EB store in philly and you live in Pittsburg, you get charged tax. In reality though, online stores are supposed to charge state tax no matter where they are and where you live. The law is not enforced though because many of the online stores are located offshore. So it becomes very difficult to enforce

You know, I just tried to play GalCiv 1 demo and it's a hard game! I followed the basic walkthrough and at the end of it I was like "no! don’t leave me now... help!" The walkthrough basically gives you the first several moves and rest is left up to you to figure out. I would imagine that all of you veterans are laughing at me about right now, but its like this... the game is information intensive and doesn’t lend itself very well to new players just trying to figure things out. I know that

I read on here somewhere that someone researched the speed and sensor tech trees as much as possible and then made a ship with lightning speed and sensors up the wazoo. That way you can fly through an area and sensor the heck out of the area and vanish before the big boys come a shootin

Peace Phoenix we aren’t talking about GalCiv2... The original post is of course but it got off topic a bit after Yarlen posted and confirmed tutorials for the upcoming game. Now we are talking about how a good tutorial for the first GalCiv1 would help new players integrate better. It was already posted by Yarlen with Stardock that ... "GalCiv II will have a number of video tutorials that will go into a good amount of detail on the game and how to play. The game manual should fill in the rest " <
