I hope we can avoid the "humans have garbage technology, but are thrown into some intergalactic war and saves the day" thing. I'd much rather like it to start like a 5 year mission in Star Trek. Humanity has mastered the FTL technology made by the Androsynth (or whatever they will be called) and you are the captain of the first FTL capable starship. Start slow, let us explore and poke around the neighbourhood without immediately running into other aliens, and even when you make first cont

Ehhhh, I would rather see them adding whole races as DLC rather than just ships. Kind of like what Firaxis has done with extra civilizations for Civilization V. We don't know yet how the game will be played, but I'm hoping for a semi-random galaxy so that each game is unique while maintaining a core story for you to explore. Slotting new races into the game as DLC should be no big deal in that case and that would be much more marketable since it would appeal most players, not just Sup

You could craft paint jobs for ships, different lenses for lasers to change the colors, maybe your flagship could be represented ingame as your main base? Like you are on the bridge when you navigate the universe, but you can go to the captain's quarters to watch your trophies (achivements) and memorabilia, or go to the bar and hang out with NPC's you've recruited to your fleet and advance story lines with them. Maybe head to the hangar bay to tinker with and upgrade your lander o
Seriously. ME3's ending was epically anticlimactic. I stayed away from spoiler reviews and threads that talked about it, deciding for myself how badly the ending was done. I can appreciate the creativity of ME3's ending, and how they wanted to spin it differently, however...it was so tragically unfulfilling that I wanted to stop caring about the whole ME universe.
So true. ME3 left me emotionaly dr
So are we getting Steam Codes for this game? That was definitely an aspect that made me hesitate before purchasing this as I figured it was highly possible Stardock would skip steam with the Founder's program. I hope they don't as I have a Steam Link and Steam controller.
I sincerely doubt they would skip Steam, it's the largest digital distribution platform for games. Only big studios like Ub
I was never much of a fan of the original Star Control 2 combat, especially starting out. The Spathi Eluder was an okay ship but combat really wasn't tolerable until either the main ship received enough upgrades or more of the alien races were recruited. The satellites were a nightmare at the beginning of the game. Towards the end of the game they were some quick, cheap low grade resources. I like the idea of keeping

I'm a bit surprised that I was picked. Although while I'm a long-time fan of the Star Control-series (I even enjoyed SC3), I'm not quite as die-hard as some of the guys here. I can only assume that the developers want nuanced feedback from a wide variety of fans, which makes a lot of sense. I would do the same thing in their shoes. I look forward to following the development of this game in 2016.

I'm fairly certain that anything in the Vault would be a no-no in terms of sharing. It contains design documents and rejected concept art that normally wouldn't see the light of day outside the studio. Sharing rejected concept art without context or explanation could be very damaging as it would skew people's expectations of the game.

I like the idea of planet features showing after you scan it. Good way of keeping track of where you have visited. Planets before scanning could just have a generalised look and designation. Like in Star Trek with M-class planets being Earth-like.

I think you could please everyone by including lots of options during game creation. Enable/disable timed quests, static or random galaxy, set the size, number of planets etc etc. You could make every game unique while keeping the central theme or plot static or even randomize parts of the main story. An example would be (using SC2) that the Ilwrath-Pkunk war could be randomized so that theres a big conflict in the galaxy, but the alien opponents are random and the location could be r

It would be fun with some epic (optional) encounters. An example would be a scenario where you keep hearing about some badass pirate while out exploring a sector and if you investigate you can find his base or provoke a confrontation. Winning the battle could have lasting effects on the area like making travel safer, aliens would be more friendly (discounts etc) and you would get it added to your reputation so others might mention it in dialogue or you could use it to pressure others (hey, I&

I hope it won't be too cartoony. The planet designs look too far gone on the cartoony scale and should be dialed back a bit. I wouldn't exactly call SC2 cartoony, in fact is was pretty scary to play at times when I was a kid and first discovered it. The Ilwrath, Umgah, Kzer-Za and Kor-Ah were pretty creepy aliens to me then and still are. Hopefully some genocidal maniacs like the Kor-Ah will make an apperance in the new game.

A big NO to timed quests. Quests have storylines and conclusions (possibly world-altering), being forced to do something because theres a time limit on it is annoying and ruins the fun of an open world/universe. A big YES to timed events. Events can be reoccuring combat missions, trading opportunites, wormholes to another dimension etc.

Please add an option to skip combat. I find it extremely tedious to have to do combat constantly, especially against trivial enemies. I hated the Slylandro probes in SC2 and the Daktaklakpak in SC3.
