I am also having this issue. It seems that this didn't start, at least for myself, until about a week or so ago. I am also having another issue with screen re-draws that seems to be related to WB, but I need to see if another topic has already been started for that.
Man that would be nice. I have only been around here since '04 and I tried playing with SS back then. Never could seem to get it to do what I wanted. So I searched for tuts, never found any and gave up. I figured after a couple of years, someone might have come up with tutorials for the later versions of SS. Guess I won't give up so easily this time and start asking questions.
So I found out...however, I could find absolutely nothing that would tell me that. Are there any somewhat updated SkinStudio tutorials around? The only ones I could find were so outdated that really weren't much help. Like version 1.0 and 2.0... Skinning tut This was about all I could find.
OK, so the answer is that the file must be exactly divisible by 3? I guess I should have thought of that. I thought that the program would automatically divide the image file in exactly 3 parts...no matter what the overall size is. I created all 3 buttons from the same image (so they are exactly the same size), placed them side by side, combined them and exported it as a single image. The image size was 83.4 x 18.8. I didn't realize that it only worked with whole numbers. So I went back and expa
OK...lets try this... here is a screenshot... do I need a set spacing between buttons for the original image file? It seems to do this type of thing on my buttons no matter what the spacing...but, I'm a noob!

OK, this may be a dumb question and/or may have been asked before. I have searched the forums and tutorials and have been unable to find the answer. Thought maybe one or two of you nice folk might be able to enlighten me. I have recently decided to try to create a skin. I created the titlebar and am trying to place the titlebar buttons (close, min., etc). However, when I create the buttons and place them in their respective positions, they don't seem to view correctlywhen I test the skin. So,

Scripting! How is it done and where can it be learned? Are there scripting programs, or do you just pull it all outta your head? Is this something you would cover in your tut? I would love to be able to create widgets and objects, but I don't have a clue about scripting and would like to learn.
I have been unable to find where you can set or enable triggers and/or dynamic content. I have D/L'ed DreamScene, rebooted, installed DeskScapes, rebooted, D/L'ed the only three .dream files currently available have been running them most of the day. Everything works and looks GREAT! Where can you access this functionality? Or is it not yet actually functional? Am I missing something?

Has anyone tried (or does anyone use) Xara Xtreme? I find it's an excellent graphics program. It seems to be 100% compatible with Vista. They have recently released a newer version called Xtreme Pro that is compatible with PhotoShop including layers. Just curious...

I guess what I'm referring to is to be able to place a dock where you want it. You can do it with the tabbed dock but not the standard dock. For instance, I would like to be able to make a single iconed dock as a start button that I can place in the usual corner of the desktop that is fairly large and set it to reserve the screen edge. Then I would like to make some smaller iconed docks that I could place along that same edge that is within the reserved space for the original dock right
Is there a way to have the dock spaced away from the side edges of the screen. If you place the dock on bottom right AND you have the dock set for zoom/magnification, the far right icon gets pushed off the screen. Not a major deal, just kind of annoying if you're in a rush. It would be nice to have the option to place the dock manually. Inane
Well, maybe I did something wrong then scorpio...I set the start button, taskbar, quicklaunch, tray, etc. to 25 pixels and it still seems to show up at a height of 30. Yes, I'm trying to design a skin of my own without using someone elses WB as a template. But for some reason, it seems to stay at 30 pixels. However, when I apply a skin with a smaller taskbar/system tray, it shows up fine.
Skinning newbie here. Hope you don't mind helping. How do you change the height of the taskbar. I noticed that several of the skins have shorter taskbars, but I can't find where the set the height. I've looked through several tuts but I haven't found anythng that gives me any direction for scaling the size of the taskbar. Thank you! Oh, yea...using SkinStudio v.5.0.0 build 1105 ;)
Hello people. I'm working on trying to design a skin and was looking at all the other wonderful skins and I'm wondering what programs you use to design the icons and buttons. Some of them look so good and every time I attempt to make one look even close, they are almost pathetic when I compare them. Just really curious what everyone is using.

Yep, I got 2.20.357 Build 103. However, every time I restart the PC, I get a message that Stardock has an update to 2.19.... (a lower version) I thought that was kinda wierd too. Anyway, I have restarted Stardock numberous time and that has not correted the condition. Yes, I am a current subscriber with a current subscription. Any other ideas?
Hi all! Wondering if someone can tell me what happened. In SDC, it shows I have WB4 installed and used to have WB5 link to install. The other day, I noticed that it was no longer even listed in SDC. I went through & checked all my settings to ensure that I didn't have it set to not list it or to not list betas/alphas. Everything appears right...just not listing it so I can install it. Any ideas?
