Ahoy Gents, I've had a bit of a route around the forums, but I can't seem to find whether or not it is possible to edit the scale of Suns and Planets in Galciv2, Is this one of the things that can't be modified?
Domage
The creators have the new version for TotA up on their forums; http://han891.freeforums.org/index.php Just released about two weeks ago.
Ahh Thank you Kyro
I'd like to create my own starbase models using the Ship editor, is it possible to replace the original model? I can't seem to find any guides or tutorials on this in the forums
Aye, the first capital ship is Completely free guys It will really aid you.
Well the conumdrum was I actually wasn't a member of the beta, bought it on release.
Anddddddd there we go.....the problem corrected itself at some level hehe.... crisis averted!
When I attempt to begin downloading the game, I get three errors of "The beta of the application you are attempting to download is not available." With the version of the game showing as "0.90.[b].035". So far I've tried switched between the US-1 and US-2 server, refreshing and restarting of SDC in an attempt to resolve this problem Does anyone have any suggestions?
What time period are we though now with the pre orders? anyone who ordered in the past few days had their launch codes yet?
Because I'm Siccccckkkk! Waits expectantly while coughing for emphasis on my condition
Curse you Sir! ...I'm still waiting on my pre-order email...
Heck, I just Scrap or Lull letters and sounds together until I find something I'm happy with. a name like Alisolia would probably fit fairly well on an Altarian battleship.
Cheers :)
I don't mean to sound like a whiny lil brit, butttttt.... can anyone tell me what the general release time has for the various other betas? sort of killing myself checking every so often what with that damn norovirus running rampant around my body :P
Heh, had that myself today. got a nice lil class 16 planet from them, and all it cost was 260 troops.
The races have been added in every few weeks on a basis of "when they're just about done". But as most of those hard working chaps at SD took the week off we probably won't see the Altarian and the Thalan until after the 2nd of January, which is around the time of the next beta release.
Well the colours of the races are fully customisable, Click the race(s) in the selection menu before the game, change their colour under appearance and save. You can choose from some pre-set colours or use the RYB sliders to choose a colour that's better suited to your tastes.
I've actually thought about using them to blow up empty star systems within my influence, just so I could build asteroid mines in the debris. heh
On larger maps I usually capture only about 3 to 4 other planets of 9+ PQ, making one of them an economy planet. This way I give myself time to build up my initial infrastructure, while the AIs are busy throwing their money into building colony ships and taxing the heck out of there own economies, I'm busy researching all of the lovely economy techs and the weapon techs - specifically planetary invasion. Generally at the start of a game I put my tax at about 40% and my spending
I don't know know if this will help in anyway, but it maybe that you're missing some drivers that the game needs to play the opening movie? I believe there is a command you can add to a shortcut skip it, something along the lines of -nomov or -nointro. Or you could try checking for updated drivers for your hardware / reinstalling. If that doesn't work or one of the more knowledgeable members here can't help, you'll have to wait for when the SD staff come back to work on monday.
The advantages of trying to attempt an influence win are the increased revenues from tourism from expending both into neutral zones and AI zones, and if you have a strong military, seizing planets from the AI without a shot fired. If you are able to seize several planets from a specific AI through the use influence without a big ol' fashioned messy war starting up you reduce that AIs Tax income, Tourism Income, Research and Military Production ability (The latter two dependant on wh
The component from the first amplifier tech gives a 20% bonus to weapons, the Kill Zone tech component gives a 33% bonus.
lol omegalord I find Haikus hard indeed But what the hey eh?
One thing I would like to suggest, allow players to write there own world description's. might seem a wee bit pointless in comparison to the other ideas suggested here but it really helps a role player flesh out his/her custom race.
That issue seems to stem from some kind of AI pathfinding problem. I found myself in that situation today, a scout craft of the AIs was attempting to simply fly over my planet on the way to god knows where, teleporting the ship away using the cheat command resolved this.
