Common misconception here. Start with you will *only* be able to squirrel away up to 4% of your SS money. So even if all your investments go belly up you will still get some SS when you retire. Check this page. Fair enough. (And if it's a common misconception, then I'm not the only one who's made it.)

Let's all cut the crap, shall we? You're all making me sound unpretentious...and that's hard considering my ancestry's French. Almost like hearing, 'you're evil!' 'no I'm not..' 'yes you are!' etc etc so on so forth in infinity. You're not proving your point by calling Mod an ass, but rather proving his. To sum up: Mod, what you've described can be attributed to anyone with with any sort of hard line belief. They don't to acknowledge that any

Wow. First of all, and no offense meant Mod, I kinda thought this was you when I saw the title. Now I kinda wish I hadn't acutally posted what I did on your blog, parts of it...('the coming out of the rain' remark. I was either brilliant or cutting, and considering I'm sick with a head cold, it's hard to differenate which.) my prayers (for what they're worth from an animist rock worshipping heathen. <img src="../images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN=

(AN: Yeah, yeah, I get it. Late to chime in on this topic. I originally started this weeks ago, and only found the time to finish through a terrible oh so human malady: the common head cold. If the topic sounds snarly, it's partly because of that, but I don't think it's entirely unsuitable.) ...with so many people who think they're so right. (I sometimes fe

You're loud, you're angry, and you sound like you sat in the rain too long and caught a chill. Your grammar sucks and your spelling is the most horrible thing I've seen in a while (ok, now that I think about it, this last one's a lie.). You find liberals oxymoronic and biting; we find you the same way. ...For the love of all that's holy, please don't change. A. What is the year of your birth? 1980. B. What state do you live in? You'd be shocked, but it's easily the most conservative state of the union: Idaho. C. Which presidential candidate did you vote for in each election over the course of your life? 2000: Al Gore. (reluctantly. I was tempted to vote for Nader in this election, acutally.) 2004: John Kerry. D. If you've had a major shift in political beliefs, is there any particular reason fo

Sol, I already wrote about this. I find it highly amusing and not repulsive or torture. if that is the state of the US torture, the only end (other than obtaining some info) is that there will be a lot of volunteers to the Al Quada that only want to get caught! Sorry, it is a humane form of information gathering. Want the l

Link You know, you may not agree with me on this point, but doesn't it seem that we're trying everything, moral, degrading or not, to get these people to talk? What is wrong with us? Do we acutally sincerely believe that because these people did a bad thing to us first, we're legitimately able to toy with the

It's almost fun watching the right wing pundits take pot shots at the UN and it's current troubles; one would think that globalization would run counter entirely to their economic and social policy. And fair enough, the current system sucks, like a Hoover set on high and left running for entirely too long on shag carpet. How did it get that way, though? Isn't the UN s

Now you are claiming the Swifties lied, Not to necessarly defend squrrl here, (they should be able to do it themselves,) but the Swifies DID lie...maybe not about Kerry (that has not been proven) but they did sign the names of veterans to letters without their permission, producing fradulent support. Maybe Newt sees Pelosi as that kind of person. Given other things she has said about the war, it wouldn't be a big leap to make. I don't think any of these people wish harm for US troops or the effort, at least I hope not. There are people who DO think they would. And that's what breaks down communicat

So, when someone like Kennedy uses the same propaganda terrorists use, with no other benefit than something to quote next election... is that patriotic? No, of course it isn't. Constantly addressing the American people and telling them we are losing, that our soldiers are cruel, or are dying needlessly... these are all things tha

During my hiatus, I, as a bleeding heart liberal blogger have successfully: made America lose a war (which I wasn't even born for), trying to see that America loses this war too (funny, I just wanted some sort of idea of how we're going to get out with all of our troops home and the Iraqis getting a stable government, but I guess voicing dissent is wrong), I have

Before you all think I'm jumping the bandwagon of people lauding democracy an absolute success and the fact we show those insurgents who's boss, I will say, reservedly, that the Iraq elections were a booming and rather quiet success, despite all the hype (and no pun intended). BUT, here's just a small sampling of some issues that needs must be raised: <BR

So, are you really saying that, you would be more than happy to have someone else pay more to ensure Social Security is there for you when you're ready for it? Interesting. Tell me, what else are you so generous that you would allow others pay more so that it will be there for you, when you're ready for it? </T

Wow. You really could of said something meaningful here, Doc. You could of said that it was oxymoronic that we would idolize a man who was proved to have cheated on his wife, been tried (but not convicted, so under the premise of innocent til proven guilty, he's INNOCENT) of perjury, and possibly segued into the fact he changed his political stripes in office as often as I change my underwear.
