But if you read the article linked, the authors mention that there are numerable instances where he has suggested a connection. A simple lexis-nexis search turns up plenty of documents including, for example, a June 18, 2004 article in the Seattle Post "CHENEY AGAIN INSISTS SADDAM HAD TIES TO AL-QAIDA" where Cheney mentions the links several times. <

I think both sides played well to their bases and I don't think many swing voters will be moved by this debate. It was pretty much a draw as both candidates made the points they had to make. Cheney - we have experience and need to stay the course, Edwards - we are on the wrong track and need to get a fresh start.

I agree. I remember after the Cheney/Lieberman debate that some people (including a few pundits of course) felt that both tickets should have been switched because of how well both did at a sit down talk about the issues. I'd expect a similar performance by Cheney tonight.
