So you are saying that we no longer need to use that exe file provided on the download page? Ie from 1.2 the collector's items are included? Sorry for rehashing your point...

Brad...every time you add a journal I am one of the first to read it. And considering that I’m in a completely different time zone, it's indicative of your dedication and love for the game. Congrats on the release! I wish you and Stardock all the best once GalCivII is released review-wise. This is a great endeavour of Stardock to enter the gaming market as a full-blown developer and it was so professionally executed. We

Following on... I remember reading somewhere where the GalCiv AI was said to be unique in the sense that each race has a unique AI, rather than making a general AI and scripting different profiles for each race. I wanted to know if any could expand on this.

Also a side note...am I correct in saying the GalCiv's AI DOES NOT cheat? I know the developers said Civ's AI does cheat on the more difficult levels. The A.I in CIV4 has a hell of a lot more to do, so it's not a fare comparison. That's a bit of a statement to make. I figure that both are roughly doing the same thing.

I think Civ IV's AI is multithreaded too now. Hmmm...interesting. I know you once spoke of what exactly multithreading was all about in some review / preview / article of GalCiv1. Never read anywhere about Civ4's AI being multithreaded, but thanks for the heads up. Thrack* ...Brad gav

Has anybody played both games yet? Given my problems with Civ4 I can't comment, but was actually hoping to know how the AI's compare. I know GalCiv is still in BETA, but none-the-less it would still be interesting to know. I know with GalCiv the AI was Multi-threaded, which is revolutionary over the normal scripting AI's. So in theory will GalCiv's AI be stronger? I know I may be talking rubbish, so please do hesitate in correcting me. <img

I have another comment dealing with the "slowness" of the game. When accessing menus etc. there is always a slight delay i.e. changing your resource allocation between military, research or social production. When moving the bars there is always a delay reaction before the bar accually moves. Is this due to my system specs?

Thank you Star Pilot Well truth be told I only played Civilization 3 two years after its release, so may as well wait a bit until I can Civ 4 then...although that preorder rubbish has miffed me (and many other Civ fans) off. Very tempted to buy the preorder...will probably bring in my laptop tomorrow to work and start the download. Thanks for all the info.

I know this is pretty useless asking for advice on preordering GalCiv2, but none-the-less I still welcome it. This is my situation. I preordered Civ4 over a month and anticipation started kicking in. Now living in South Africa I had to fork out quite a bit for S/H, but I was prepared to do so anyhow. I get it 4 days after its release to firstly fi

And then what about those who have already started play testing the betas? I feel though you have actually contributed to the games developments will miss out on the "extras" mentioned about. The physical items above (desktop, tech-tree) I could do without, but what about the extra ship components? Hmmm...maybe I'm simply sour over pre-ordering Civ4 and finding out first that my dis

I suppose it's too late to jump on the bandwagon? If I ordered now, can I get Beta 4 or must I wait for the final version later in February?

Truth be told I haven't submitted my query to any email address, HOWEVER I have posted the question twice in two seperate topics where Frogboy has posted. My assumption was that at least one of the Stardock members reads the post and either directs me to the appropriate email address, or simply answers my question. Thank you Peace Phoenix for answering my question. This all makes me think that Frogboy and Co. only visit the forums to start a topic or bring the l

I'm actually VERY disappointed with Stardock. I simply asked a normal question relating to the price of the BETA and I'm still waiting for a reply 11 days later. Surely it's not a difficult question. Doesn't make the potential customer feel appreciated at all.
