Today I got all dolled up and went out to teach English. My new student is a wonder. She seems to have already noticed the vital link between air quotes and working out at the gym. It would be bad enough if she used the air quotes right. Then there was "I not quite sure." instead of "I'm not quite sure." instead of "I dunno.". I tried to give her a nudge in the direction of "I dunno" but she was quite sure she didn't like it.
