Quite right. There is Jewish genetically and there is Jewish religiously.

For example:
Sammy Davis Jr. was Jewish by religion.
My friend Isaiah Solomon (yes, that is actually his name...) is Jewish from his ancestry. He doesn't practice, but he is most definitely of Jewish descent.

You can be of Jewish descent and be a Christian, Buddhist, whatever. You're still a Jew.
