Anyone wanna take bets on how long it'll take for some bigot to come in and berate all the "homosexuals" who respond to this questionnaire earnestly?
Ehhh, i could. But what purpose would it serve?

So, what is the point of this quesionaire? If you're so interested, why don't you read a book on the subject. Do an internet search for some gay/lesbian websites. Do your own homework, if you're so interested, instead of setting up the gay community here for a bashing.

A good link to start is Alas,a blog Link The authors have posted a ton of links along the right sidebar that are categorized by subjects. Tons of good stuff. But, you won't find very many, if any rightie sites. No surprise.

One more thing......

When you get the answers to the questions you posed above, I'd be very interested in reading what you have learned.

I had wondered the same thing.

Btw, Lucas, what's the point of the 'etc' in the title?

Me too. Are you asking because you're genuinely interested, or because you thought it was a contraversial subject that would garner you a lot of responses?

if you motive was the latter...well, it fell flat on it's face, didn't it?

I asked bailey a stinkin' question. I do not need your bullshit interference, whip, and your constant attacks. Holy shit, girl, get a life.

The point of the quesstionare is, in the past i have made comments against gays/lesbians,etc... with out actually doing anything, i assumed based on how i was raised. I realize now that i was foolish, i want to understand.

Btw, Lucas, what's the point of the 'etc' in the title?

-Come to think of it, i don't know. I think it was just an automatic thing. :S

Are you asking because you're genuinely interested,

-Yes.

suppose it never once occurred to you that maybe Lucas thinks he himself might be gay and would like to actually converse with other gay people about his own sexuality? That this was merely an attempt to open such a dialogue?

-That is something i am looking at, though i am unsure, and wary...

To Bailey:

firstly, don't let these PMSing bitches get to you. Your motive for doing it is no one's business but yours, and is irrelevant to whatever answers might be given. And as for Ms. Birkenstock and her tender concern... thanks, but no thanks.

1. At what age did you determine your sexual preference?

I determined my first sexual preference at age 13, when I first had sex with another boy in my class at school. He was 14. Evidently, my preference at that time was for my own sex.

2. How did this come about?

He seduced me. He was the biggest, meanest kid in class. He had maniacally brilliant blue eyes and his hair was the colour of high-polished brass, dazzlingly yellow. And he took great delight in beating up anyone who pissed me off - he beat people up anyway but I gave him another reason for doing it. And as I found out later, anatomically he was well endowed - especially for a 14 year old. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

3. How long did it take you to "come out" after your Revelation?

I never did, until I became a Christian, when I renounced it altogether, having been redeemed and forgiven, then baptised, first in water and then in the spirit. Only none of that ever remotely addressed the desire I felt. I felt it and denied it for years.

I testified to my homosexuality at my water baptism - because I believed (as in had faith in) the idea that it had been 'covered by the blood' and 'washed away'. Since I denied the desire I labelled its appearance as Satan's temptation lol, and thought of myself as a failure.

4. How did your friends and family react?

It was lost in the far greater shock of my becoming a Christian. Later, I discovered it had been a matter of importance only to me, coming as I do from a family that views sex more as fate and necessity than anything subject to moral questioning.

5. Do you feel that homosexuals are legitimately/illegally persecuted in the U.S.?

I don't think homosexuals are persecuted per se. And I wish they'd quit bitching, whining, and making a general embarrassment of themselves over this so-called persecution.

Like the kid with the glasses and the weird teeth in the schoolyard they're bullied occasionally - but that isn't quite the same thing. And let me pre-empt all you faggots (straight and gay) who are going to bring up Hitler at this point - Hitler was the exception that proves the rule. In general they're not subject to the application of industrial technique to the production of mass death.

6. Have you experienced persecution?

Sure, but not because of my sexuality.

7. Do you feel that the attitude of the country is shifting (or will shift with time) in your favor?

America is so fucked in the head over sex in general and homosexuality in particular that I firmly believe that the shibboleth of antipathy to homosexuality will never alter - though I believe also that homosexuals will eventually achieve full formal recognition and equality in law with heterosexuals.

8. How do you feel when you hear some Christians tell you homosexuality is wrong and is a sin?

Completely indifferent. There are 32 years between 45 and 13 and simple experience teaches you a lot. If I had a first preference I might also have a second and a third - as I do. After my own sex came the opposite sex. After women came acceptance that neither sex alone satisfies me. And along the way I've left the Church, ceased to be a Christian, and found a spirituality that let's me be myself. Which is not to say I flaunt my polymorphous perversity, I don't.

But that's because I recognize the distinction between public and private, as well as the presence of that animosity already mentioned, so that out of civility and cunning I keep my life to myself.

Ah, a 'Lucas'ism'. Yeah, I've noticed that you do that.

firstly, don't let these PMSing bitches get to you

Oy, I don't PMS anymore. I'm just a common-or-garden bitch, not a PMS-ing one, thanks very much.

Lucas, I'm going to take you on face value here and tell you that Phoenixboi might be a good person to talk to about this. I'm always available to chat as well (dharmagirl69@gmail.com or my yahoo IM ID is dharmagirl69), but I'm not gay so I might not be of much help. Like I said, I'm taking this like you mean it, as are other people....so make sure that you're sincere because this is NOT the kind of subject that you want to fuck around with people's feelings over.

Thank you for actually stating this and being so forthcoming. I have seen some of your comments, and frankly I didn't trust you. I admire your true interest, and I accept your response. I do hope the link I provided to you is useful.

As for whip sweety, get a life.

No offense taken, bailey. I am a 54 year old woman, actually I'll be 55 next month. I am white. I am 5'3". I am divorced, have two grown kids - a 30 y.o. son and a 27 yo daughter, who has a 6 yo son. Yup, I be a grandma, and my grandson is the love of my life.

Anything else you wanna know?

I appreciate your interest in learning about the gay/lesbian issue. I take it you're kind of young, so you have lots of room to learn. Keep an open mind. And, no I do not intend to be patronizing. I just really care very passionately about the issue. I am passionate about a lot of things, as you've probably already noticed.

In the whole "wondering" part of what you are going through right now, and in light of the "protecting" side issue, I have a story (imagine that! ;~D) that seems appropriate... might even help...

I knew a kid in high school who started asking questions much like you asked here. It quickly spread amongst those of us who would rather hang out in the parking lot than go to class, that he was gay.

As you can imagine, he was met with both "the cold shoulder" by one segment and "encouragement to come out of the closet" by yet another part of the group.

It turned out that he had a pretty homo erotic dream one night, being a normal teen with little idea about what to make of such a thing, it made him wonder if he was gay. It turned out that, after looking around, and some self discovery, no he wasn't gay...

To me the reaction from the kids in the "parking lot gang" (as we were called, but we were far from a "gang") was as interesting as seeing what he had gone through while learning about himself. Some of the kids who were cold to him, all of the sudden treated him like their best buddy... even closer than before... Some of those who were so "encouraging" of him coming out accused him of living a lie and stifling his true self.

Apparently niether truly accepted him... too bad, he's a great person. Not sure what became of him though.

Anyway, just thought that might fit into the discussion.

I think everyone's at least a little bit gay. Seriously.

I'm a humanist. I am also a firm believer in live and let live. I believe that repukes should not have any say in how people choose to live thier lives, absent committing any crimes (murder, theft, fleecing of America, lying into a war, depraved indifference to human life, etc.).

I have been to gay weddings, and they were beautiful events, wherein two people who love eachother committed their lives to eachother. what the fuck is so wrong with that? Nothing. (I answered my own question) I've know people my entire life who have lived together in gay relationships, the oldest couple lasting over 50 years, and still going strong. The repukes have no heart and no soul if they cannot condone love like that. If they cannot condone it, then don't enter into a relationship like that. Live and let live. It's no skin off their backs. And, it's that simple.

I've posted this before, but even though I know there are some republicans who support gays rights, the repuke party does everything in its power to prevent gay rights. So, as a party platform, I blame repukes. And if you cannot accept a platform of "live and let live", then why the hell align yourself with a political party that actively attempts to squash human rights? I don't get it.

No, I am not gay/lesbian.
