Is anybody sick of Vista already?

No, I'm only sick of people complaining about being sick of Vista.

Ditto.....it's not like Vista is ancient history being dragged from the vaults, now is it? Vista is the centre of attention right now cos it's the immediate future of Windows....and of course, people want to know more about it. These articles help towards making a more informed decision about whether to upgrade from XP or not, so it would be a diservice not to provide the service, now wouldn't it.

Or hit the "back" button. This is a cheap edit of an accidental doublepost.

Not sick of Vista yet - but is it just me or do the screenshots look like one of the millions of WB OSXs?

The right question is: "Is anybody sick of Vista "Beta" Yet?”. The copy that everyone has in there hands is only a TEST version, "TEST", which means that many and many stuff is not available as in the final version.

People stop judging vista based on a beta copy. Beta gives you the feel of Vista, not the performance and action.

Read this: (I got this from Link)

This beta isn't really for even tech enthusiasts. This beta is to test out some of the capabilities that we've got, if you will, in the plumbing. We've got the beginnings for the virtual folders, but really this is plumbing.

Most of the stuff that we would expect that tech enthusiasts and consumers will be interested in will happen at Beta 2. Beta 1 is not what I would call deeply interesting unless you are a real bithead. We did change the file directory space. I consider that to be a step up. It was more than getting rid of the word "My". [In Vista, the folder that was once "My Documents" will become simply "Documents," while "My Photos" will become "Photos", and so forth.] We are trying to simplify it and make it easier.

So, guys, feel free to test the "BETA" Vista, and stop complaining of a "BETA" Vista. Always remember that this is just a "BETA". BETA, BETA, BETA.

Peace to all

Seems to me it don't matter if its Beta 1; Beta 2; Vista 1 or Vista SE, there'll always someone wanting to shoot it down in flames without qualification.

I agree with you, Biggy X, people should wait until they've had hands on experience with the final product before commenting. At least then they'd have some credibility regarding the pros and cons, etc. Mind you, regardless of stable and functional the final Vista is, there'd be those who'd find ways of stuffing it up and finding fault with the OS I for one, with my limited computing experience, most certainly will mess something up somewhere, blurting out some spontaneous, choice expletives at the time, but it'd more likely be my own doing rather than Vista's....MS don't have the technology to make OSes fool proof as yet.

I must admit, it is a really smart trick by MS to hype the product, i.e create expectation, and a lot of talk probably years before it is released.. Just as they did with XP..

Really can't blame them.. And Vista might deliver what's "promised", and maybe not..

Interesting to read about anyway..

The smart trick MS employed was not rushing out Vista to compete with Mac Tiger on the shop shelves. Of course they run the risk of being accused of copying and all that OS wars hype, but surely it makes better business sense to delay the release to iron out known issues and others discovered during Beta testing by developers and IT professionals. Ultimately the user benifits, and I'd rather wait a bit longer to bring home an OS that's been well and truly put though its paces to ensure a more stable product.
