Windows cannot find "(null)"

Windows cannot find "(null)"

Lately, when dl clicking on a file...eg a jpg .... Paintshop Pro loads...but this error pops up.  Then I dl click on the file again and it'll load.

This is using Explorer Plus....but Windows Explorer is the same.

I'm assuming I have a service stopped that cause the error....yet dl clicking on a doc file loads word just fine.

Any ideas?

Google didn't help as any refs to the error appear to be different issues or system-wide...;)

whatever went gaga happenned on or after 12th of June...that was the date of the last system scan...so obviously scanning was working then...

OK, but was the backup proggie (after you fixed it) and the scan working at the same time?
OK did that....now what's supposed to happen?...
DI7 and Norton have both worked...at the same time...they don't conflict...

hummmmmmmm...OK. What version of drive image is installed? (I think we're back to this NET Framework thing again)

DI 7 ...it's working OK...did the last backup on the 27th.

That net update you had me remove is still off the comp

Hell...maybe it is pspbrwse.jbf

AVG is looking more desirable by the moment...

Is this the version: http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/files/dimage/dimage_7_files.html

China...I don't 'browse' with PSP...so I don't generate them...
but did you ever?...

and you call yourself a PSP man!

Here's the deal...the 'older' Drive image got porked by the song and dance MS did on June 14 with that update you removed. The bad news is that your Norton AV requires it...so the question is ....which one do you want for Christmas?

.......and your thoughts Hotstuff ????????

No...mine will be 7.0 ....I've had it longer than that...

But the issue isn't with DI7...at least I don't think so....cos if I kill some processes currently running I get nav to do a scan ok.

well...I guess I can dl the DI7 update then...and put the net hotfix back on...and take it from there...

China...I have an ancient 'acdsee' to browse images....and Powerdesk and Explorer Plus both have image viewers...no need to use PSP as well...

my thoughts? Paul needs to get rid of all his pspbrwse stuff.
You need to stop talking like you know it all.

I'll stop drinking beer...

no, that'll never work.
So....I'll use the newer DI 7....and run the hotfix....and both NAV and DI7 will be fine.....but I'll have the associations with PSP all borked again...
.....only if you're lucky....
You borked it up....you have no one to blame but yourself
Reply #98 Top

twiddling thumbs while 7.03 downloads...but I haven't rebooted yet after the hotfix.

If I still open the NAV main window...and click on system scan....now...all that happens is 'nav32.exe' loads ...and does nothing...no associated daughter window, etc.

Click again...yet another process...still no scan...

There is one other rather ugly prospect........you latched on to a virus or a trojan.....

oops...'navw32.exe'
