Well my rank while I was on active duty was ssgt. and as for the skin my army special marines, what the heck is that. The Marines are the Marines and the Army is the Army and neither the twain shall meet in a skin. Like Hogdog asked where''s the USMC stuff, pure bread and Blead, our country''s fineist. Maybe those great skinners out there are not up to the task, the Marines are to much for them. hehehe - Just a nice polished USMC windowblind and icons would be great. wish I could skin.

I know there are a few marines doing walls, not sure about blinds or icons. Might be. I was told that marines are the Navies army. Don''t agree about the country''s finest either.

yes in actuality the Marines are a division of the Navy ..not the army.. but i think Xavs intentions are among the most highest...and i applaude his tributes to the members of our military forces.

Please give the good Xav a break. I believe he is French, and in French the word "Army" (Armée) refers to the whole military. For example we''d refer to the marines as "the army''s marine corp". That''s one thing, personnally, that I always had problems understanding. How can the different bodies of the US military be so seperated? Isn''t it all the same army in the end? To me, as to a lot of French, or other language people, it''s the US Army, or the French Army, or the Canadian Army.  I understand a bit better now, but still not completely. In Canada "Army" is short for "Armed Forces", ie: you got a gun and you fight for your country.

I Appreciate the skins and wallpaper, guess other people see where I'm comin from, Thanx guys. A big OORAH to all my Marines, and all those who put this together. One Thing Very few people understand is a Marine is a Marine and no one can touch them for that very fact, and maybe only Marines understand what I mean and thats alright, Because those are the only people who need to know anyways. Funny thing is here in the US the Marines are actually a department of the Navy. Don''t know how that works but it''s strange...

Back in the days of sail Marines were soldiers carried on Royal Navy ships. They were used for shore expeditions and engaging the crews on enemy ships in times of battle. The tradition stuck and other countries borrowed the idea. There are still Royal Marines today and of course the US Marine Corps, which is bigger than many countries' entire armed services. It has specialised in being the first ashore in any new combat theatre and has also traditionally had a higher death rate than the other services.
