How to remove shortcut arrow on a dock item

I've added items to my dock in ObjectDock.  I have a folder with shortcuts (.lnk) and then dragged them to my dock.  Some of these items in the dock show an arrow on the icon and others do not.  In one scenario, both are shortcuts to Excel files.  Why would one have the arrow and the other does not?  Is there a way to create the shortcut so it doesn't have an arrow when adding to the dock?  After adding to the dock, is there a way to remove the arrow in ObjectDock?  Thanks.

Nevermind.  I figured out how to browse for an icon in the customize icon screen.  One quirk I noticed is when I change multiple items, the first icon I change gets reset (arrow returns) after change another icon.  Just had to go back and do the first one again.  It was reproducible.
