I hope the software is good...because just the name 'Napster' alone will give it an edge over BuyMusic and iTunes...everyone and their mother knows about Napster. Well I signed up...I get 5 free tracks if I sign up before tomorrow...so what the heck.

Kona, you are a strange one indeed. A few months ago you were a big Metallica fan and you were excited about their new album. Now you are angry with Metallica for taking down a system that made music piracy illegal and you say St. Anger sucks. I will agree with you about the new album, but what Metallica did to Napster was not bad.

I will not be using the new Napster because it bothers me that the guy you created the original Napster that made music piracy was able to sell the Napster name for a lot of money. Do you want to use a legit service that has a name that was purchased from a music pirate?

I love iTunes. It has a wide selection of music. I understand Kona's point about buying the CDs from the store, but I think the point of legit music services like iTunes is to be able to buy new albums without going to the store or waiting for a CD to be shipped to you and having the ability to purchase single tracks and burn your own mix CD.

I downlaoded it, and I like it!  I especially like their premium plan for $10/month. If I could affort it, and if they offered it outside te US of A (again same problem), I'd go for that.

I looked at that k-lite site that Ryan gave the url for. Music, Movies, Games, and Software all for free? This cannot possibly be legal. This site is teaching people how to pirate all these things.

Kazaa doesn't teach people how to pirate. Besides, it is not illegal to download free music off of the internet. It is illegal, however, to upload or 'share' that free music/etc. to anyone else. Now anyone aware of this would definately pick kazaaLite instead of kazaa because kazaaLite gives you the option to NOT share your personal collection of music.

If uploading via Kazaa is 'illegal' being property theft [copyright] then it automatically follows that downloading the same property via Kazaa is also 'illegal' being receipt of stolen property.

Not exactly. Especially if you've already purchased the music that you're now downloading. I personally find downloading albums instead of copying them via my cd-rom much faster and more efficient, especially if you want to download higher quality versions than those on your CD's.

Still it would be a cool idea to buy a 'burnable' cd and ask on somekind of concert if they can put their signatures on it
