Fences 3.12 Beta Issue Report Thread

With the Fences 3.12 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the beta:

Object Desktop members can get the beta from within Object Desktop Manager with 'show beta downloads' enabled:

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page:

Reporting an issue:

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive services (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube) and link included in your post.  Images can be directly added.
  • If there are specific apps that Groupy does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Fences a better product.

If you create a new one now, does it then show in the Fences UI?

If so, but the others do not, they could have become corrupted at some point.  Sorry to say there would be nothing we could do about that and you would have to recreate them.

Yes it does.

So if another one is stored in the Backups folder, why can't it be restored?

Unless it can, backups seem to have no purpose!

It is: 6e8448bd-8b0f-4777-ab5b-4d5c27c985a5 followed by .png and .xml

Perhaps there are parameters for the name which this doesn't meet?

The XML is what is important, and they would be represented in the Fences UI as a name (what you named it) if Fences could read them.  If it cant (corruption), then they won't show.

On 2 monitors, blurred (translucent) Fences display the blurred wallpaper wrong if it spans on two screens (aka dual screen wallpaper / dual monitor background). I was not using wallpaper engine right now, so I can't say if its an issue there too.

If I disable the blur, the wallpaper behind the fence is alright, but it looks ugly (in my opinion). Because of that I uninstalled fences for now.

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Did you use the Latest Fences version 3.12 if not try that.

also are you using DeskScapes if so click on setting and make this adjustment

click settings lower left corner of DS app then 2nd settings in the drop down - see image below - check it if not checked for DS to take over Fences Blurring

I was using the latest opt-in Beta version on steam. I'm not using DeskScapes, just plain windows settings, Windows supports spanning wallpapers over multiple monitors by default.

I reinstalled and made a few screenshots and a demonstration video:

I don't know why your versioning isn't consistent because 3.1.2 normally isn't the same as 3.12, but that's what I got.

only 2 worked for my current wallpaper, but one of them isn't usable, because its distorted.
