Crusade - Anyone having doubts because of the economy changes?

Anyone here having doubts about getting Crusade because of the radical changes made to the economy system? Love most of the other stuff, Spies, Civ Builder, etc. Honestly I was surprised that spying was not part of the original release. But not sure if I'm going to like the many economic changes. I wasn't thrilled when they added the Administrators for Starbases. Thoughts anyone?

Which specific economic changes are you worried about? More over what things dont you like about them or think should/shouldnt be changed?

My feeling is its hard to make a accurate opinion on them until I try them out myself. I imagine that when I first try them I might be taken aback by the changes initially, but as with some of the other changes in earlier patches I see the potential for them being a good change once all the other changes come into place. Its easy to look at each specific thing and criticize the changes compared to the other game play but I think until we see all the changes as a whole working together its all conjecture.

If there is something you don't like - you don't like it expect of other things.

 

If you don't like chocolate ice but vanillia ice and your preferred dealer is going to sell vanilla ice only together with choclate ice you will like it because it is only sold with strawberry ice too? I don't like things that doesnt make sense - like your martyr commaders - so i don't wan't to try it it - why? i don't like it - i'm going tgo look for another dealer which sells vanilla ice without choclate ice  ;)

I say: wait and see ...

As long as everything would be moddable I'm even fine with things I don't like, but that surely isn't the way to go for the average player.

Due to how things have gone with GC3 I've very much on the wait and see bus. I am concerned about whether Stardock can deliver the changes in a way that isn't initially quite a mess.

It will seem like a new 4X game.

More involving, more to manage.

Large maps will take longer to play so maybe we can get some sort of MMORPG/PBEM/Hotseat game going.

Can't comment on the economic changes yet as I haven't played the game yet. Once I do I'll let you know. ;)

I'm looking forward to it. The emphasis on scarcity and rescaling the numbers should go some ways in solving the snowball problem... At least on paper. Cannot really say without playing it.
