UI Feature Requests

A few features which would make the game more enjoyable in my opinion:

1) Be able to set launch direction from a planet, starbase, or shipyard.  Right now being forced to launch in a certain direction wastes valuable moves.  Even more annoying is that new ships launch to the right of shipyards while garrisoned ships launch in a different direction.

 

2) Range tool: I would love if holding shift (or some other modifier key) while hovering over a space would show a "range" of spaces which would be modified with the scrollwheel (or some other method).  For example, scrolling up while holding shift increases the highlighted range by 1 hex from center each time with a visual number shown in the middle.  This would be super useful for planning starbases, where to station ships, , figure out potential enemy movements and figure out what range is needed for ships.  Clicking on the space while holding shift would select that particular space and enter "range mode" and then you could hover the mouse anywhere on the map and it would show the distance from that original space until you hit "escape" or something like that to return to normal mode.

Since it's not being used for anything use the right or left click mouse button instead of hovering.

1) currently you can use waypoints at least from shipyards to launch to a specific direction, also when launching from a planet or starbase if you tell it to go to a specific tile rather then simply ejecting it, it will launch to the tile closest to where you are sending it.

i would like to have the ability to set an eject direction though

these sound good, like the range thing, though the ship tells you the range left when selected, but I dont want to count every hex...
